Two quizzed over dismembered girl #
Rochelle was reported missing on TuesdayDetectives are continuing to question a man and a woman arrested over the murder of a girl whose dismembered body was found dumped in a housing estate.
The discovery of Rochelle Holness, 15, was made at Milford Towers in Catford, south London, on Wednesday when her body parts were found in bin liners.
The pair, both 47, are not thought to have been known by Rochelle, who is from Lewisham in south London.
Police believe Rochelle, last seen on Sunday night, was kidnapped.
Her remains were found after an ambulance was called to treat an injured man at a flat on the estate on Wednesday morning.
Phone box
Ambulance staff called police who arrested the man and woman at the flat.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts before being discharged.
He and the woman were taken to separate south London police stations to be interviewed.
Rochelle was last seen at about 1900 BST on Sunday after saying she was going to call her boyfriend from a phone box on the Milford Towers estate.
It is a pretty nasty area - you just lock your doors and windows and hope no-one bothers you
Christine Stewart, Milford Towers resident
When she failed to return home that night her parents assumed she was staying with friends.
It was only when her boyfriend called on Monday, to say he had not heard from her, that they became concerned.
She was reported missing on Tuesday and her remains found the next day.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on Thursday.
Distraught family and friends have taken flowers to the scene, which is behind apolice cordon, and scenes of crime officers have been seen leaving with evidence bags.
Det Supt Paul McAleenan said: "At this early stage, it is not clear when Rochelle was killed.
'Petty theft'
"I want to hear from anyone who was in the area at any time from Sunday evening to the early hours of Wednesday."
Residents on the estate said there is often trouble in the area.
Christine Stewart, 40, has lived there for 10 years, but plans to leave as soon as her son goes to secondary school.
"It is not a nice area," she said. "There is lots of petty theft and my neighbour next door was burgled.
"She found somebody in her house and the woman the other end was burgled at the same time.
"It is a pretty nasty area - you just lock your doors and windows and hope no-one bothers you."

When I first heard this story, I prayed she wasn't Black.
I believe the suspects are White.
How can the parents "assume" their child is staying with friends? Not my child. However, I do believe there was nothing they could've done - seems the suspects were on a mission.
What a waste of a young life.....

@Lady Vee I don't get it... how can the parents justASSUMEshe(15 year old child)might be staying with unkown friends and not call the police? I am telling sis the world is going barking mad...
You know there are actually some parentswho encourage such thingsso they can have the night to themselves... to go out raving in their little shorts and blue hair... **kmt**
This people are jokers justbecause the kidscan answer back it don't mean they areold enough to look after themselves.... actually i would rather leave a 4 year old alone at night than a 15 year old boy or girl. Don't they remember the things they used to get upto at that age and no grown ups around?
Shshsh
When i was 15...if i wasn't home by exactly 6PM, my dad would be out re tracing my school route and i used to get proper hour of moaning and another hour of moaning to explain why he is moaning followed by scary tactics which is when he would talk about the bad people who are just waiting to do something bad to me.
*Shakes head*
First bad school report I ever had (talking in class) my dad walked me to school and back for a whole month and i was 14 years old....

That is a very good question. How could the parents not know where their 15yr Old daughter was. And by 'friends' that would be a nice way of saying boyfriend, cause she expressly told them she was going to call him.
But like Lady Vee said such aa waste of a young life and the perpetrators should have the full weight of the law brought on them.
How can you dismember a human being. That is pure evil..

Its all too easy to blame the parents. My younger sister went through a rebellious stage of sneaking out of the house and there was nothing my parents could do, even though they are responsible hard working people who believe in discipline.
I wonder if Rochelles death would have been a top headlinehad she been from a white middle class family i.e like Millie Dowler If there is no equality in life it doesn't seem there is any in death either.
but incidents like this aren't abnormal, they just don't get reported in the news.Just today a cab driver told me how a 13yr old girl was robbed and sexually assualted in broad daylight (outsidecab office)last wk in Lewisham. The term black on black violence needs to scrapped and replaced by 'street violence' because a lot of sh** is going down(not just gun crime)that needs to be addressed, particularly the rape and abuse of young girls and women.

its sad and i was shocked when i read this for real.
but this should be an example to these knuckle head kids didnt i hear something about this government extending thier staying out time till 10pm or what for under 16s, these ppl dont know what they are doing. and even though id blame the parents partly the thing is some of these kids wont listen so theres nothimg much you can do than do the best they can hope they reach 20 alive and kicking.

@Soul Machine: The government were actually forced to make a u turn on curfews - they did not want to extend the staying out time. But, the high court ruled that the curfews 'breached human rights'

@all: this past year in general reading all the news reports, I am tempted to think that life seems not only pointless but extremely cruel... such a terrible way to go. I feel for any parent who child passes in those circumstances

I tell this is a parents worst nightmare come true....yes some questions has to be asked about the parents but I would also be asking questions about the victim too.. How did it get to a stage where nobody knows or cares where she was...not good

That's the thing nowadays. A lot of parents were young when they had their children, and think that 12 is a good age for a child to go his own way so that they can catch up on their lost youth..

Unfortunately you do tend to mimic your own upbringing, and raise your child the same way.

Regardless of how rebellious a child is, they should have been raised with enough respect to know where to draw the line. I was rebellious (my Mum still think I was hard work!), but do you think I EVER stayed out all night??? Even at 19???? You crazy! I feared my Mum bad, and would never think of doing that.

I've raised my children the same, although they do get more freedon than I did they would never dare stay out or swear at me etc....

Back on topic, I must say I'm extremely curious as to the motive for this. This girl looks like she can take care of herself, so I'm wondering if this case has echoes of the Moors Murders?

@Lady Vee
My dad says the same about me ... i really think i was a very good child compared to the kids this days anyway. While i was living at home never even thought about staying out past my curfew... forget staying out all night..even at 15 andwanted to sleep over at a friends my dad would speak withmy friends parentsand arrange everything first. Well i did manage to find sly way of doindg things i shouldn't be doing but then what youngperson doesn't .
Anyway i hope they do find out what led to such a disturbing murder... and i hope the community wake up and learn from this... i am sick and tired of seeing young black kids running the street all hour of the night.

I was shocked when I heard this on the radio today but I knew straightaway the girl was black, prob cos of the name. These people are sick it is soo worry to know this type of shit happens. Is Milford Towers the estate thats above the tesco supermarket?? cos I heard the particular block is notorious for madness. Never liked the Lewisham area I always avoid it all costs.
