This has/isbeen asked by many in the states....blacks mostly....who have no party which can make a difference for their daily lives..............Although I think the two parties aren't that close to each other, I want to know if U were an American voter, what would U do?
Plus keep this in the domestic policy..........

Your question doesn't seem very specific, I'm not sure what you are asking.
I'm an independent. I think both parties are piles of crap. I voted against Bush twice for all the good it did. If McCain had been running in 2000 I might have voted for him just for the novelty of voting Republican.
But I think the fact that the Republicans would nominate an obvious idiot like George Dubya Bush says there is something seriously wrong with that party.
I'm looking to see where you mail the letters supporting impeachment. I don't think it means much but its something to do.

I think we would have gotten nicer lip service.
I think the ball has been in Black Americans' court for 30 years and we have been fumbling. I watch the way a lot of Black American women treat their kids in public Just yeaterday I watched a Black woman make a fist at a little boy that couldn't have been more than 4. He got a frightened look on his face and did what she said but I have to wonder what happens at home. What can the government do about that.
I spent 4 months trying to get a Black woman in charge of a library to get an electronics books so kids could take them out. I had produced a flyer with info about the book and showed it to her. NOTHING!
I don't get it and don't know how to change it. I think the schools are deliberately sabotaged that is why I try to promote bypassing them but nobody seems interested. So I try to stimulate some action via the net. Once in a while I get some positive feedback.
I have had 2 people tell me i'm scary. I don't get it. Guess I'm dense.

I am an american.
Both parties are out of touch with what is really needed for blacks and for the rest of the people in this country.
I liked john macain and wesley clark to some degree ... the rest were for sh*it as far as I am concerned.
wesley clark is the better man - imo.

This thread is confusing? I was going to respond earlier but I assumed it was for Brits only. To make it even more confusing, why would Brits care about our domestic policies.confused3
Also what makes you think Gen Clark is the front runner? Hillary seems to be the one who has the media establishment on her side. I would probably consider her the front runner....Im liberal on economic and foriegn policy issues but strongly conservative on social issues. So I would consider myself a person without a party (despite the fact I work in the office of a democratic figure).
I'm using my vote as a political tool this coming political season, its pretty much set in stone that Obama is running for prez in 2012 but the only way he could do that is if Hillary loses. So Im willing to vote in a Guliani, McCain, or even Frist to get an Obama presidency in eight years.
Im crossing my fingersfingersx forreputable black conservativecanadates likeCondi Riceor Ken Blackwell to run in 08..They would be first in line to get my vote.

Well, as my mother used to say bele, the proof is in the pudding. We would have to see if he did anything for black folks. But I think he might ... he is a practical and pragmatic man who believes in taking care of people who are willing to work and contribute to the society. he believes that to have productive and responsible members of society we have to invest in people.
Wesley Clark is a Populist-Leaning Liberal
He believes in.
Requiring Companies To Hire More Women/Minorities
More Federal Funding For Health Coverage
Controlling Immigration and taking care of our people first.
Not expanding Free Trade laws which undercut american workers and jobs.
Expanding the minimum wage
Cracking down on companies who hire illegals for rock bottom wages.
He has walked the walk on issues like racism, he just doesn't mouth liberal platitudes -- he does something about it. On his own volition, he joined in and filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court in support of the University of Michigan's case in favor of affirmative action. He spoke about his own insistence on affirmative action in the Army and how giving a hand to those who have traditionally been shut out. He didn't have to get involved in that struggle. He has stated on many occasions that African Americans still occupy the lowest rungs of the ladder in a country where everyone is supposed to have "a chance." He has been endorsed by one of the founding members of the Congressional Black Caucus, Charlie Rangel, and former Atlanta Mayor and aide to Martin Luther King, Jr., Andrew Young.

Like Umbra I am an Independent. I think all Blacks should register as independent and not vote in the primaries. This will send the message that those ignant politicians gotta work for our vote rather than counting on it all of the time.
Say it LOUD! "I\'M BLACK and I\'M PROUD!"
