True dat. The Sudanese government is one that is bent on promoting their agenda i.e, a small group of people with their own agendas. They are behind all the instigations in Chad. The Darfur region of Sudan is sister to Chad, i.e the same tribes in that region are also found in Chad. Since the eighties, all most all the governments in Chad are installed and removed by Sudan including Idriss Deby's government. These are evil people in government and power. They were partly responsible for overthrowing the Ethiopian government of Mengistu Haile Mariam when Sudanese tanks rolled into town supporting and backing the TPLF.

They sent assasins to assasinate the president of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak in 1996 and they laid an ambush for him in Addis Ababa during an OAU summit and they almost succeeded in assasinating him. They are still instigating troubles in Egypt by supporting forces opposed to Mubarak. Not to forget the troubles in Uganda which they are behind that.

They sent the blind sheikh and othersto bomb the UN building and the World Trade center in New York in 1992 and they almost succeeded, remember the New York bombings of 1992.. They were behind the bombing of the US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya. They hosted Carlos the Jackal until they decided to let the French have him in 1996. Not to forget hosting Osama Bin Laden in Sudan from 1991-1996. Now they recentlyas two weeks ago were talking about starting nuclear power for electricity and talking to the IAEA, but their intention is to have nukes if they can get away with it which I don't see how they can do that nor do they have the expertise. All in all they are a danger that must be dealt with sooner than later because they believe in getting even with people who cross them or are in the way of their agenda.

From Mother Jones http://www.motherjones.com/news/feat...darfur-12.html
Eight to nine thousand Chadian rebels, mostly army defectors, have arrived in wide swath of Western Darfur, given over to them by the central government in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum. There they are training, planning, and coordinating their takedown of the government of Chadian President Idriss Deby.
ALONG THE CHAD-SUDAN BORDER: Chadian rebels gathered this past week for a military parade "in the bush." The rebels have many pieces of heavy artillery as well as new vehicles.
ALONG THE CHAD-SUDAN BORDER: A young rebel soldier takes a mid-afternoon break in the back of a Toyota Land Cruiser with a Chinese Type 77 12.7mm machine gun mounted in the back.
ALONG THE CHAD-SUDAN BORDER: A young Chadian rebel soldier rides in the back of a Toyota Land Cruiser on the road between a rebel camp and El Geneina, the capital of Western Darfur. Although the Chadian rebels do not clearly identify themselves as they travel through Sudan, the Sudanese military knows their location and gives them safe passage.

They are a formidable fighting force and pose a real threat to civilians on both sides of the border.

You made a point of pointing out the brand new weapons and shiny toys. Any idea where they came from and under whose leadership they were acquired?

Sorry DrunkMonkey, I should have put the source forgot to put that. It was from Mother Jones I just cut and pasted that from a source forwarded to me with the words and captions. As to where they got their equipment from I don't know exactly but it has to be from Sudan and Chad respectively I assume.

I meant where did they come from. Toyotas don't get made in that region and neither do those bazookas and machine guns. That article also mentioned helicopters. That's many many millions of dollars. From where?

Ok DM, I see what you are talking about. The helicopters were purchased from Russia in the 90s. The government in Khartoum has a big military industrial complex that asssembles and buildstanks, carsand other accessoriesunder licence from China. The Toyotasare purchased from other countries. Instead of using our resources for peacefull purposes, they with their agendas are squandering our money on killing machines. China is giving them all they want in return the Chinese get to receive oil. Bob Geldorf (spelling) last week accused the Chinese government of also fueling the troubles in Darfur and Chad because they are the ones preventing the UN security council from taking action in this matter.
