Two brothers were stabbed to death after a gang of men attacked their van in south-west London.


Mohammad and Hayder Ali, aged 23 and 24, were found fatally wounded outside a house in Fircroft Road, Tooting, on Saturday. Both later died in hospital.
They were attacked by a gang of up to 15 men, who smashed the van's windows. The two then either climbed out or were dragged out, before being stabbed. Three of the seven men arrested over the deaths have been released on bail.

A third man, who was in the driver's seat throughout the attack, was unharmed.
Mohammad, from Battersea, south London and Hayder, of Southfields, south-west London, were attacked at the junction of Fircroft Road and Tooting High Street at about 0016 BST on Saturday.

Police said a large number of weapons, including knifes and baseball bats, were being examined by forensic experts. Det Ch Insp Mick Duthie said: "At this early stage of the investigation we are keeping an open mind as to why one group of Asian men attacked another.


"This attack on two young men has resulted in a family losing not one, but two sons." He appealed to the local community and anyone who has information to help catch those responsible. Roads surrounding Upper Tooting Road were sealed off as officers carried out forensic examinations.

Just to clarify..I do not wish to appear to be revelling in the unfortunate death of two young men...and naturally I thoughts go out to the family for their lost..

However I'm posting this story to put into perspective the mythg often cited by AFRICANS on and off this forum, about this so called Asian unity.. For allthose who don't know Tooting in SW is the 3rd Biggest Asian community in the UK, 3rd only to Southall and Bradford...

I predict that when the reasons for this tragedy comes to light, it will be a reason that makes no sense, and will to the outsider appear trivial... My point however is this, this story in part confirms what I and a lot of other people have been saying for a while now.. There is a significant problem within the youth culture PERIOD.. Its not confirned to Black as many would have you believe..its across ALL cultures.. and I personally believe its driven by the conditions of this country.

The Police can 'keep an open mind'...but in truth what sensible reason could their be for a 15 plus gang to drag two men out of a van andbeat them to death?

So the next time people want to beat themselves about the behaviour of our yout' and then point to Asians as a model community..bare this incident in mind..because i guarantee you it wasn't the first and it won't be the last..

Regarding the myth of asian togetherness, a lot of it is hush hush and don't speak of it.

Awhile ago I was talking to a elderly asian college and he was telling me one of his families sons commited suicide, he mentioned that all the time they stressed to the kids that no matter what they did or think they could come and talk the the parents. I suggested maybe he had a problem that he couldn't talk to family about and the guy was adament that there was no reason for him not to come and talk, he wasn't backing down on this and doesn't know why he killed himself.

Talked to a younger asian college roulghly about parents etc...and he said exactlly what everybody else says there's somethings you just can't talk about to family with and the pressure to keep it in the family is strong, maybe enough to commit suicide is my thinking, he termed them old school.

What we are seeing is the next generation of asians born in Britain separating from the old school, many parts of home culture is left when they step outside the front door.

No offense K but unless they are putting on some type of front in the UK when has there been Asian unity? LOL Pakistan and India are about as unified as the US and China LOL

It's probably going to turn out that one of these brothers de-flowered one of the gangs precious virgin daughter,sister,cousin....wotever...you fill in the blank.

So they commit this barbaric slaying to bring homour back to the family.confused3

This is just one theory.

The other is that they are all ignorant testosterone fuelled males who got caught up in gang mentality and have now done something from which they cannot return.......and this theory has nothing to do with them being Asian and everything to do with them having dicks.

maybe I'm desensitized to violence....but...thee types of things happen ALL the time....



it might appear to an outside group that members of a certain ethnic group or nationality "stick together"....but that's just how it appears from the outside..

the group may practice customs and business cooperation that seem great relative to another group.....but they are made up of individuals....who have arguments, beef, quarrels as individuals just like any other group...



this type of crime seemed to be over drugs or money....and was meant to send a message to others...



I'm not from England..but this "model minority" thing and perception exists here also....people label Asians(koreans, chinese,japanese) as such.....but reality is that crime is crime.....asian mafia and street gangs fight amongstand exploit each otherjust like any other other ethnic group....

every asian person i've known through work & at college,has some ****eries family drama story totell. the younger generation has a big mouth while the elders will go to any extreme to look honourable within their community. most young pplhave neverbelieved this 'myth' for a minute.

1 asian girl i know has a schizophrenic uncle living in the family home who regularly tries to knive members of the family, herslf included. of course asians don't have mental health issues, thats ablack man ting. so he continues to live in their home and is hidden awayduring celebrations and functions, when he clearly needs to be sectioned.

a next hindu girl i used to work with startedgoing out with a muslim boy, obviously bringing shame pon the family.anyways her brother must offound out, tried to kill the boyfriend with a shovel, then cuss at his sister, spit on herand box her in the face. next day she come to work with a black eye and split lip and casually told everyone what happened.

this is justregular everyday asianbusiness, don't be deceived...

asians attack asians all the time. its always gang warfare. an asian taxi driver told me guys go to events with all types of weapons so now events are struggling to have any good hosting down my ends

MGL you left out the descriptions that I usually see describing us like brute, animal, etc. The usual adjectves, nouns, and adverbs for the mythical African attacker that is rarely ever found when committing "black" on white crimes..............

Who exactly said that Asians were united in the first place? The only thing some Asians are used as, is an example of how to make money. However, many asians are even poorer and less educated then some black folks(i.e Bangladeshi's, Sri Lankans) so even that stereotype is misleading

Its an open secret that confusing an Indian with a Pakistani ( and vice versa) can get you banged up or worse

Sikhs and other religions are always fighting up in the Midlands( As seen with my own eyes)

Most of the gang fights I have heard about in London( media, friend's accounts, etc) have been involvign black folks. Most of the fights I have actually SEEN, involve Asians

Sri Lanka gangs cut each other up up in the north west of London. One old school friend told me he was at the scene of one incidient and a man got his nose sliced off

They kill there own daughters for going out with other undesirable ASIANS, as well as other races
