I can see such a thing happening, Ive worked in mostly Black environments where folks made Whites and Vietnamese feel uncomfortable with racial slurs, stealing from their desk and generally disrespecting them.
The same laws that we use in civil court can also be use by Whites and others.

My only surprised is that this is the first case that has won, should be interesting how many more of these come to light in the next 12 - 24 months

Indeed. I know my old high school used to torment some of the White teachers, but not the cool ones; only the ones that acted like they really didn't want to be there.

I think the 300K is a tad bit steep. If its not about the money, she should put it back into the school system and maybe establish a multi-culture awareness program.

Its not steep at all, its a pretty median settlement actually. I know a sister who got that much simply becasue she didnt get the sales territory she wanted and sued for discrimination and the company settled.
