I know I am playing into the hands of his spin doctors but here goes:
Quote:
"An American rapper will meet Conservative leader David Cameron after he claimed the music genre encouraged people to carry weapons. Rhymefest - real name Che Smith - asked to talk over a "cup of tea" after hearing the politician's criticism of DJs for playing violent songs. Such music "encourages people to carry guns and knives", he told Radio 1 earlier this year.
He also suggested it should be banned from the airwaves."mad-moonie

A few years back it was Peter Thathell on Reggae now the Current Conservative Leader, a strange way to broaden his electorate ? Or a soft target against a soft Community ? smoking-devil

If they ban the songs that have anti-female lyrics, I really wouldn't care. Not into that b*tch and hoe type of rap anyways.

its easy to make broad and sweeping statements about a subject on which one knows nothing. Especially when simply telling people what you think they want to hear.
David cameron always struck me as a bit of a twank anyway. he'll be lucky to get a foot on the doorstep of number 10, never mind anything else. He comes off as tony blair mark 2 ,without the sincerity (and yes, i'm being sarcastic).
YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

rhymefest co wrote jesus walks by kanye west...he's affiliated with him...
kanye isn't the brightest guy in the world....so I hope rhymefest isn't like him....
I'd be interested in hearing the debate...exchange......
it's a promotional stunt for rhymefests' new album...but media doesn't play fair..hope he brings his A game to the debate....

We can't convince racists that our culture is worth something. We shouldn't focus on debating them. We should focus on convincing ourselves. There are plenty of folks right here in this forum.
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning.

Agree Dogon...but this is a promotional event/stunt for rhymefest.....
if you don't have a big label behind you pushing your product, you have to do things like this to get your name and face out there...
Remember the show politically incorrect?
I never liked bill maher, still don't.......cause he used to take potshots atrappers on his show.....and more often than not..he'd have guests on there who couldn't give him a good debate and shut his foolish ass up.....
Not that rap needs to be defendedfrom a 50 year old white man.....but hey, you're anadult..hes an adult..topic comes up....you should be able to shut him down...easily.....
young white kids who are rebelling against their parents EAT UP shows like this because they "briefly..and temporarily" identify with the rapper fighting against old white power structure"
Me?...i just like to see young black men make old white men look STUPID on tv.....(for a change)
++++++++++++++++++++++++
they NEVER invite Chuck D to any of these events..because he's RAZOR sharp and would eat ANYBODY up.....in these forums/debates....so they invite the young boys....
rhymefest is older than most rappers...hope that translates into him being smarter and more articulate than the ones on tv all the time....

I agree Chuck D is very sharp. I think Master P is knowledgeable also. But I just think it is awaste of time. "White" racists will always try to tip the table in their favor. They just don't play fair.
We spend so much time trying to convince them and it will never happen. Meanwhileour community is full of folks who think "we are a cursed race" or that "everyone can be a racist".
No wonder we typically look idiotic in debates with racists on television.

Dogon
I'm not saying that these debates "validate" us.......or "convince" outsiders of anything........but lot of idiots on tv, the internet, and the outside world who speak about hip hop without any understanding of it......
when any reasonably intelligent hip hop artist gets on one of these forums...they can easily shine spotlight on the ignorance that the outsider has about hip hop and black culture in general......
Malcolm x used to repeatedly make white men and token black men look very foolish in these types of tv forums.....because he lived in black communtiy, was very smart, well read and articulate...and he knew what the realities were......it was easy for him to expose an outsider who was making judgments about stuff he knew nothing about....

I disagree that rap music should be banned. I think we ought to use more intelligence in our choices of rap music. Here's some real rappers for those who love REAL hip hop:
The Sound Providers- dope beats, no N WORD, no cursing
Sir Menelik-tight beats, pro-Black
Kool Keith
There are lots more but that was just my two cents.

Well if it was banned, zionist financiers might well end up with no money, something which would not go down nicely with david's own zionist backers. But then again they always find ways to make money.I wonder what david thought when he was "allegedly" buying coke for hundreds of pounds which most probably ended up in african nieghbourhoods.I suppose he would replace hip hop with the lovely history of the british empire?
What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Muslims or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?" Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski: United States National Secu
