What, exactly, has Condi done or not done to deserve such a bashing from the black community? I would like serious, substantiveanswers to this question.

1) She perpetuated an egregious lie and our soldiers and innocent Iraqis died.
2) She was buying $200 shoes while her own people were in desolation after Hurricane Katrina starving and drowning.
3) She warned the Black mayor of San Francisco not to fly the day before 9/11, but later stated no one could have known about the terror attacks in advance.
4) She's phucking George W. Bush.

Black Americans have been brainwashed to think that anyone outside the Democratic Party is a sellout of the highest order. Not one Black magazine has had the first Black female Secretary of State on the cover.
Its a disgrace. But we buckdance for the Dems without batting an eye.

Why do you think she was not sincere in her assesment of the treat represented by iraq? If she was insincere, what was her motive for perpetuating this "lie"? Do you think Colin Powell was insincere also? If so, what was his motive?

Is this to say that she was doing nothing or are you actually speaking of her shoe shopping during this time? $200 shoes are not that big of a deal for a lady who earns six figures, when we have unemployed thugs running the street wearing $175 gym shoes. For this point, I assume you are simply saying that she was not a force that influenced action at the national level to help the Katrina victims....is this the case?

As far as I know, the Secretary of State has no responsibility in this area. If this is the case, are we bashing every high ranking or influencial black that took no action in this case?

What is the source/proof of this accusation? This could also be very substantive information if verified accurate.

This does disturbe me. It is why I am trying to determine if there is any substance to this bashing. It is as though all blacks have to agree politically or they are sell outs trying to please the white man. Although I am an independent, my conservative views typically lean me toward republicans but I absolutely vote ISSUES that I believe in not people or personalities.
My point is why isit thatblacks who share my views are so often considered sell outs, insincere, self-hatersor trying to get theapproval of the white man. I personally don't care about anyones approval, but I do believe in standing for whatI believe is right.
I sincerely believe that welfare hurts the black community. It traps people into a cycle of behavior that restricts them from ever reaching their potential. I personally don't care if there are more whites on welfare or blacks or mexicans for that matter, but I see the effects of welfare on our community and there is nothing positive about it. Not withstanding the family (or single parent) in TEMPORARY need due to hard times, this need will always be there.
This view and others of this type are often criticized as "seeking to please/appeal to whites", self-hatred, punishing innocent children, etc. etc. etc. I don't mind if people dissagree with me on issues like this. It is their right to do so. But it does disturb me when I become a race traitor, or self-hater simply because my views are not lock step with what a "black man should believe".

I actually like condy. She's intelligent, strong minded.
I think she's harshly judged. But then which public black personality isn't?

Well, Condi's character is quite clear right now. She is just as crooked as the old White men who take office who have no conscience for the lives of those they govern, as well as the non-constituent lives they adversely effect. Given both Colin Powell andCondi are Republicans, we must understand that thereare sacrifices one must make for their political career in their respective political party. At the same time, the Republicans used these token Blacks as Whites always do to further an unpopular agenda, like theWar on Terrorism, preemptiveattacks onsovereign countries, and freedom fettering politics such as the Patriot Act. Every time there is anunpopular policy, they put a Black person out front tolead the procession.

Colin had enough decency to know when to step away from the hawkish agenda of the Bush Administration although he was used to lie to the world. However, when it comes to Condi, she is in much deeper with the energy companies than Colin Powell. Condi is a brilliant woman, she has a doctorate in either Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, shewas an executive of Chevron oil (she even has an oil tanker named after her), amongst many other accomplishments before coming to Bush's Presidential Cabinet. When I look at her, I see the same person as Bush, Blair, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, and others who are more concerned about their energy/oil investments (as well as favors to these corporations). Therefore, just as her White counterparts, she was in it just as deep with them with the common agenda which is utterly repulsesive.

It is my position, particularly as believer in traditional African ideals and principles, that any African in the West with an influential position has the duty to do all they can, even if it is to make some noise. Kanye West was in no position either to provide "assistance to victims of natural disasters", but it was simply the African soul that connects us all that made him just have to do something...whether or not you felt his outburst on camera that "Bush hates Black people" was appropriate. Condileeza the skeeza did nothing, but buy shoes. So in my eyes, she is a sell out.

Well, PrisonPlanet has a list of documented officials being fore-warned not to travel on 9/11, including when mayor Willie Brown of San Francisco cancelled his 9/11 flight...

Dr. Rice is cool and intelligent sister. Pity that many folks hate her simply for doing her job. There are far more worse Hardcore and Extremist, Black Conservative Republicansout there that black folks should focus on such as John McWhorter, Rev. Jesse Lee Paterson, and the worst of allWalter Williams who does not waste any opportunity to degrade African-Americans and favours stomping on Africa and Africans. This is a guy who wrote an article lamenting how South Africa was a descent country under white Rule especially P. Botha.
Walter Williams wrote that "The tragic fact of business is that ordinary Africans were better off under colonialism. Colonial masters never committed anything near the murder and genocide seen under black rule in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Nigeria, Mozambique, Somalia and other countries, where millions of blacks have been slaughtered in unspeakable ways". Walter Williams visited South Africa several times during the apartheid rule and gave several lectures where he said the following on one lecture. "Africa's past experience should give Western anti-apartheid activists some pause for thought. Wouldn't it be the supreme tragedy if South African blacks might ponder at some future date, like the animals of Jones' Manor (George Orwell's Animal Farm), whether they were better off under apartheid? That's why blacks must answer what's to come after apartheid? Black rule alone is no guarantee for black freedom." And we think that Dr. Rice is a sellout to her race. The above individualswith the exception of Dr. Rice is who people need to focus on.
The Woman issmart and a hard worker, you can see that by the way she handles her self. I think she is just mis-understood. True she made some stupid statements and comments that rubbed people the wrong way, but what she says is far more descent compared to her male Black Conservative Counterparts. Maybe she is judged so hard because she is a woman.confused3

Ok I can't take it no more..so I'm gonna have to bust up this Condi love-in.... Lets be clear yes she is intelligent, yes she obviously has skills to get to where she has and yes she works hard.....
However she is still a sell out for the following reasons, as an intelligent woman, she read and agreed with the bullshit strategy that led America and the UK to war, that has cost far too many Africans their lives... then unquestionably she is a sell out of the highest order... I'm no expert of Iraq, I'm not expert on war, yet many villagers who used to frequent EPN, will testify that i and others predicted what would happen in Iraq if the Americans went in, and argued against this plainly ill judged and ill concieved idea...
However Condi Rice, an 'intelligent' woman didn't recognise this folly, didn't act against this folly... so what am i to make of that? Either that she knew and concluded with her Neo Con friends or that she is stupid, either way she is a sell out..
But even if you disagree with me with the above, allow me to cite another glaring example, I remember before and after Bush's first term, his behaviour towards the NAACP... (now lets be clear I'm not fan of the NAACP, its a contradiction, anacronistic and well past its sell by date), however it is nothing short of disrespectful, when a prospective president refuses to meet with this African American group, and worse when he clearly states as he did ( mocking terms) that theywere irrelivant and that by having Condi and Coolin in his administration, they ineffect spoke for ALL African Americans..
Now you lot can remind me did Condi, correct her paymaster on that gross generalisation, or on the contradiction of his behaviour or that arrogant statement..because if she did I must have blinked and missed it... Further when Bush in pushing for a second term, clearly.. (lets be clear now not unintentionally, not inadventently) he clearly snubbed the African American vote and openly courted the Latin vote, casting them as the'model' community... Tell me did Condi tap him on the shoulder and say; come on now Gov, thats disrespectful?
Oh and I soo nearly forgot, and btw I can't believe i nearly missed this obvious example... When Bush and his cronies at the supreme court, and in Florida..by default did their bloodless coup, by denying people with convictions the right to vote, or for that matter clearly rigging it in some instances.... Please advise me..did Condi THIS 'intelligent, hard working woman' did she come out say publically or privately that it was unconsitutional..that it was out of order that Africans were in effect denied a fundemental right...?
You know you lot have it twisted, you think that if someone is HARDWORKING, or in a position normally vacanted by whites.. that this in its self should give ALL black people a pass, regardless of the many contradictions around them... You lot appear to think that when people like me say she is a sell out..that we're hating!!! far from it...
However in my view the grounds og morality, ethical and recognising those who gave her the opportunity to succeeed, Condi is an out and out sell out no question...Now what I would like if for someone to tell me i'm wrong or that I'm mistaken..because that would be interesting!!

Glory2God,
The biggest myth that some people make is just because were Black , we are suppose to support all of them. I make no qualms in expressing my displeasure for Condeleeza Rice. I cannot support a woman who would support a president, whether it's her job/not her job who would not only support the republican party, but also to support a president who is known to be racially insenitive to the rights and needs of Black people and other minorities. As a Southern bred African American woman, I am especially more sensitve to this because they have always been known as a exclusionary and racist party. That is why some of the Demos of the past became Republican--to keep from supporting the civil rights bill. Even today, people like her told us that Black( college) education is not legitimate, We don't need to raise the minimum wage, that we need to rid of Affirmative action, that we should do away with Medicaid/Medicare programs for the elderly , poor and disabled( people are still confused and losing their prescription drug beneits because of it. What a shame!) and that we don't need financial aidetc among other things.
Far as Condeleeza, I thought she went a little bit too far in saying that her boss wasn't a racist and that he cares about the people of Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi? That did it for me. I just thought she wen't down. I lost respect for since that time.. Some people say , she only said it because of Bush. I think about our terminology of " sell-out". When I use sell-out, I'm not using it because she a Black Republican woman working for her White Republican boss, but I say that she is a sell-out because, she is working without paying attention to the harm that she, Bush and every other person who supports them are doing to people from all backgrounds.I think about the time where she first accepted her position, I thought that there is no way that I would be working for Bush. To me, supporting a man like that is like support Hitler. The onlything I will credit her for his her personal achievements, but far as what she is doing in the White House no way. She can say all of thes ehtings because she's in power and practically she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but I'm willing ot bet you that if it was the other way around she wouldn't be saying them.I was born a Democrat. I don't care how bad some things will look for Democats I will never become a Republican. It's still exclusionary as ever. They preach about god and there is nothing godly that they are going.
You say that you're an independent , but lean on Republican values? I was looking at the part where you mention about welfare being bad for the Black community. I have problem with t | |
