You must have a southern white man on the ticket to win. A black man white woman ticket would not fly, I don't care how qualified they are.

We'll see. I didn't think the Democrats would take both houses either, but they did it. The Democrats have two years to start campaigning. And, I can't say that any Black man/White woman combo wouldn't work. Clinton may be too hated to win anything beyond New York, but I cannot count Obama out.

Guys,

Barack and Clinton. If our country was more tolerant of race, I could see those two running togther. I loved Clinton because he had our country going inthe right direction. The economy was almost perfect, you didn't hear of gas prices yo-yoing,race relations was not that bad, he was for the rights of other people and he cared about his country. Some may question his morals. Ok, he did ho-hop, but his adulterous affair does not pay my bills or put food on my table. I can overlook that unfortunate quality from him.

The debate of trying to win southern states is over. Dems dont need a single southern state tobe competitive inelections. With Obama on the ticket theyllpick up at least oneswing state in the midwest..game over...To be honest Hillary would bethe drag on the ticket cause she dosent reasonateANYWHERE outside the coast.

Obamaneeds run on a unity ticket with a Republican..Id like to see him give Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romneythe VP spot..If he wasreally smart he'll put Tom Tancredo on the ticket, but that maybewishful thinking on my part.

I seriously doubt they would have two senators on the ticket.Look for a governor to balance things out.

I look at the U.S. political landscape frommany different viewpoints. If your only political fix is watching CNN or Fox News for an hour a week it will go over your head.

Unity ticket:

This isnt an outlandish idea..We almost had a unity ticket last election. John Kerry courtedJohn McCain in 04' for VP, only reason McCain turned it down is because he wanted to win the presidency in 08, Edwards got sloppy seconds. Its already a strech that a black man is even competitive, white independents will want balance..You know, to ease into the whole "black president" thing a WHITE repub VP would probably do that..

Newt Gingrich:

Ok, Gingrichwas a stretch, but he needs a republican, perferably aconservative repub to pick up .Mitt Romenyor to a lesser extent Guliani would be good additions.

Southern states:
Quote:
With the exception ofFloridathe south is solid. The dems did lose the last two elections but the former and current DNC chairman both say they were going in knowing they would lose the traditional southern states.Yet they wherestill verycompetitive.. The last few elections show that dems are becoming more competitve out west in growing states like Nevada and Colorado. These places the dems have a more realistic chance. If Obama wins Ohio, nothing needs to change on the map, Ohio has a very strong history of electing blacks to statewide offices. He would resonate very well here.
