This wouldn't have happened in North.....
They're getting younger....i wouldn't be surprised if the next thing we hear is that an unborn child leaped out its mother's womb to batter another unborn child in the next womb cos it thought it dissed him.
No guesses as to the kind of home this boy is raised in......

What planet are you on???
This could happen anywhere, at anytime, in any race.
Bad youths don't only reside in South London, you know (Hackney, Harlesden, Tottenham to name but a few).....

I hate being picky especially on serious topics like this but Hackney is NOT north. It's East London.
Oh and Harlesden is North West which isn't quite the same as North.
But the general point you made was true though. Coulda happened anywhere.

I could've quoted Manchester but chose not to.
I wasn't quoting North per se (although the places I've quoted are actually North of the river).
I'm just fed up with people seeing South London as some kind of criminal capital.

I live in Peckham and I hate to say this but it is typical ofalot of children to act this way.
It’s a symptom of a decaying community...I’ve lost count of the amount of single parent mums still in their mid teens screaming at or neglecting their own kids in the street.... you can bet that this child comes from a broken home (almost the norm these days). and you can bet that this kid is one hoody away from being a convict some time in the future...

Moro Naba,
It doesn't matter how great/bad ones upbringing is, a child sometimes does what they want. I know kids that were brought up in the best homes and when I mean best I'm not just talking about the kind of homes, money or living in a two parent home. When I mean the best, I mean that their parents, nurtured them, attempted to instill great values in them and were properly disciplined--and they still came out to be bad. I don't care if that child would have been brought up in the North of London, he still could have been the same exact way.The only thing that we can do is just pray that our kids wont be a nuisance to others because they are vulnerable.

A media interpretation of a story we know nothing about, because we were not there...
I mean it could be that the child is from a two parent family. And that because mummy and daddy are working so many hours to raise the mortgage to get them out of the mean streets of ...wherever! He spends most of his time at the childminders/afterschool club. And whilst there he is being bullied/sexually abused by an older child/sibling/adult.
Consequently said child who is btw not articulately confident, begins to show signs of'anger outbursts'OR...
The incident was the first time of 12months at said school the child had ever lashed out violently or otherwise.
Seconds before said incident the child had been using scissors...He had the scissors in his hand when he lashed out...
Or raised his hands to protect himself
What do we know for sure?
Discuss by all means but let's not be media 'moral panic' led
If we do not have an accurate analysis of the problem, we cannot possibly develop a good strategy to resolve it.
