Is this a crude attempt to dismiss the relationship between tv, videos and street crime?
If it is, it ain't gonna mek it g!!!!
Black people as a species of man is boasty, flashy, noisy, cheerful and moody!!! We have characteristics that is unique to us as black people. Without wanting to recite a typical white cliche "Blacks are more athletic" and lets be honest we are more dynamic than whites per say.
It is also true that we can be very violent to one another and this is the only thing we all share (Human Race )across the board is this wickedness to one another. I thought I would clarify myself on that matter first....
Nonetheless Ibelieve there are traits more intrinsicallyakin with the blackapproach tolife that we cannot stop ourselves from adopting something that we feel is cool and real.Carrying a gun is just an escalation of our perceptions of ourself. 'Blackman a bad man' 'I and I no tek chek from no bwoy'All these ingrained assumptions can often become a reality before we realise it and then you are under pressureto maintain that image.
I still pertain that our destiny is in our own hands we have to start accepting our faults as people. You can't be wrong and strong. I don't really care about whatotherspecies of the human race is doing to one another but I do with regards to black people. People in Jamaica for instance are so disillusioned with the future, babies being bared to 15 year olds with no father and no well fair state!!! Men running around with 4 - 6 different baby mothers. Baby mothers going out to rave and leaving their young children at home alone, in some cases leading to tragic lost of life. The above could easily be anywhere in the world it is not only unique to Jamaica it is anywhere where black people reside, England, Canada, America or Africa. The question is why????
It is my personal belief that some of us men and women give these kids an unfair introducton into a world that isn't perfect.Kids need proper parentingwith both mum and dad playing an active role in their life on a day to day level. I personally feel that black culture is portrayed in videos, televison and film so well that we want tobe like that dude in the video with the hot chicks and the flashy ride. Some of us leave it and accept it as fantasy whilst some of us liveit for real. Being a loser in todays life is not an option.
Now you tell me how can a single parent be able to stop this from penetrating their kids when clearly it would be just as hard for two parents? To deny the infuence of media would be careless and somewhat stubbornto the marketing strategy of these corporate businesses.
