Woman dies after water-drinking contest
Water intoxication eyed in ‘Hold Your Wee for a Wii’ contest death
10:24 p.m. ET Jan. 13, 2007

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A woman who competed in a radio station’s contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner’s office said Saturday.

"...found dead Friday in her suburban Rancho Cordova home hours after taking part in the “Hold Your Wee for a Wii contest in which KDND 107.9 promised a Nintendo Wii video game system for the winner.."

This reminds me of that case of that acid ill popping girl who died because her body didn’t know when too much water was enough.

BP,

When I read that story, I was saddended about it and nodding my head in perplexity. Water is the source of our lives and she and the radio stationprobably thought that all of that water wouldn't do her any harm. Just as much as water important , to much water can be just as harmful.

BP( Iwasn't finished writing my post as I was interrupted),

Even sadder, she lost her life for the Wii game?Don't get me wrong, I seen the system played with it and love it, but 250 dollars ?( at least that is how much I seen it run for in a couple of EB game stores) Was her life worth 250 dollars in a game system? No amount of money was worth her life. I'll give it till the end of the year and they'll be something new on the block.
