One Mr Murdoch got his ears wet over here in the UK. Richard Brandson has taken over his BSkyB channels. Probably big news out there in the US but R.Brandson is like the peoples Billionaire over here, could run forP.M and win. Funny cause they left a screen on where the sky channels would normally be more or less cussing Sky literally saying thatthey hadpacked up their bags and gone home .lol. Thing is most news channels over here are biased as you'd expect considering they all get their news fro the same place so sometimes it worked the other way around Sky would report on things and bring in a bit of a diffrent veiw at times, made for better watching than the BBC or Channel 5 News .lol. Guess Sky subscribers have Aljazeera (sp) the American right winged Third Reich stuff dosen't really make it over here I mean Murdoch can't be that bad if hes allowing Aljazeera to broadcast on his network.

Doubt it'd be the same in the US.

Thats some scary shit. I've heard people of all types talk about Fox but this is the first time I've seen it. How do they get away with this? Why aren't African Americans and Muslims because I know they must be getting dissed too, making serious noises about this? Like another poster said, SKY News over here is in the same family as Fox but I have never heard them be that biased although they dumb the news down which is why I prefer Channel 4 Newsor BBC News 24.

The racism in AmeriKKKa is far more blatant than over here, but the UK isn't too far behind.

No doubt we'll be seeing things like this over here soon, with the obligatory coconuts backing them up.

Not sure if we'd go the same way. The print media is obviously very biased and theres no doubt about the politics of a Daily Mail reader for example. However, our news channels can't really get away with havinga blatant agenda or follow one political party devotedly the way they do in America. They usually stay out of favouritism in my view. To my knoweldge the only set of people who believe they're being attacked by the BBC Newsteam are pro-Isralies but thats just because the BBC are determined to show whats being done to the Palastinians.

In my view although the main news on major channels such as the lunctime and 6 O'clock news are blatantly dumbing down, for e.g. you never used to hear about celebrities on the news, we are still a long way behind the American news channels.

When I was last there, I couldn't believe the rubbish on the news and I'm sorry to say this because I love Americans, but the average American must be dumb to accept what I saw as a valid news story. For 2 days in New York, they were talking about a woman who had been rescued from her car after it fell in a river, not once did I hear any international news apart from when the whole of Britain got attacked on CNN by a commentator for allowing one if its subjects to make a film about the assisination of George Bus, oh, I forgot, Princess Diana was mentioned. My boyfriend and I were shocked that during those days dozens of car bombs probably went off in Iraq but the country wasn't mentioned at all.

Another thing that got us was that the anchors were allowed to have an opinion. In this country the news reader reads the news or interviews people about the news, you will never know whether Katie Ford, Trevor McDonald, Natasha Kaplinski, love Labour, hate Tory, hate foreigners or even like the colour blue because its not their job to tell us what they think. In America all of the anchors have an opinion no matter how ill-informed it is.

This crap does exist today. For those that dont care, this is a major issue and I believe that its going to hit the media here in the US real soon that we dont like how they view us. As a matter of fact there are people right now, here, discussing boycotting the network. So the channel that brings you the Simpsons, KRAMER, 24, and COPS is now in jeopardy of possibly losing thousands of viewers.
