ABUSED FOR PORK EATING - Woman's teeth punched out for feeding Rasta's kids the 'forbidden meat'



Anthony Pegus apparently takes his Rastafarian faith very seriously, so when he suspected the mother of his children was feeding them stew peas with pig's tail, he responded by punching out two of her teeth.
Pegus' displeasure and his subsequent actions landed him before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, where he pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful wounding.
The facts are that on March 8 at about 11 a.m., both the complainant and Pegus were at home with their three children. The complainant and the children were reportedly planning to catch shrimp when one child said she wanted stewed peas with pig's tail for dinner. The complainant reportedly told the child that she could not get it that day because pig's tail is too expensive.
Complaint

Pegus apparently overheard the conversation and started an argument, accusing the complainant of feeding his child with pork. He then punched her in the mouth, causing her teeth to fall out. He also punched and kicked her all over her body. The complainant made a report to the police and Pegus was arrested and charged.
Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey was not amused by Pegus' actions and strongly reprimanded him. Although he apologised for his behaviour, his penitence was not enough to save him from jail. He was sentenced to 30 days' imprisonment at hard labour.
RM Pusey also vowed to take a stance against domestic abuse by punishing all men who come before the court for abusing women.

Nothing wrong with children seeing punishment. It makes it easier for them to relate when they themselves are on the receiving end. As long as the dad tells the children mummy was naughty, (just like when she herself beats the children), then everything is kriss. I know you're all asking so who beats daddy when he's naughtyniceone.gif

Pork, I'd say at least let the childrens immune system develop first. Nothing worse than a toddler being nurtured on that sh!t....especially with so many alternatives.

This was another run in I had with the ex wife. I think in the end she got one of my friends (yeah you know, the same African militant who believes marriage is for white people but got married all the same) to break it down for her. Apparently I don't know how to speak to people. Makes you wonder why she stuck around so long. I'm guessing she was thinking worse case at least I'll be a source of money for the kids - Bet Buss!! LOL.

the man's an idiot. the image of seing their beautiful mother having her teeth knocked out and her mouth poruing with blood whilst she screams will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They say that boys who see their dad's aduse their mums end up growing up cold hearted and possibly abusive to other women.

He could have discussed it with her, she obviously didn't think it was such a big deal when she did it so he should have made sure she was fully educated about his beliefs, thats if she did it because remember he only suspected her of giving them pork. Anyway I can't see why some people have such a problem with the cleanliness of pork when most of us have seen the way that chickens are farmed, living thousands to a pen and basically living in and eating their own shit, the pigs are actually brought up cleaner. I've never heard of Pig Flu or Mad Pig disease.

Also if his religion says its wrong to eat pork, I'm sure it also preaches peace and that its wrong to box down your woman in front of your kids.

Admittedly he should never have put his hands on his or any woman, especially not with the children as an audience, all he displayed there was his own ignorance, brutality and total disregard for his family. BUT..... The lady in question should have known much, much better. My father and Uncles are Rastas as are many of the men in and around my family. When I say Rasta I'm not referring to a fashion following individual who one day decides he's going to locks up his hair and title himself with something he does not understand, I'm talking Rasta as a religion and all consuming way of life where the beliefs, rituals etc are all adhered to. Rastafari is a RELIGION and should be respected and appreciated as such. A Rasta not eating pork is on a par with Hindus worshipping the cow, Muslims not eating pork, Jews having 2 different fridges for meat and dairy products, and Catholics going to confession, it'sa part of the religion. My father does not and would never eat pork, infact he's a vegetarian as are those REAL Rastas who are not vegan. To cook or eat pork in his presence is insulting. No I'm not a bible basher but those familiar with Rastas will know they preach the bible and the scriptures constantly and will always remind you that the bible states Thepig is an unclean creature and you should not divulge of the flesh . Pork is as sacriligious to a Rastafarian as homosexuality, both are very strong and dominant issues within the faith and Rasta have their own opinions and beliefs regarding such. Who are we to question their faith and the beliefs within that faith. Yes they do also practice peace and diplomacy but so do christians, catholics, etc and they're all in the news every day. In our household we were never permitted to eat pork and to this day I still CHOOSE not to, that's my choice, I've visited pig farms and seen what they do, including consuming human flesh and they actually turn my stomach, but thats just my personal view. I reiterate that yes I do believe that the guy in question was wrong to put his hands on the woman and deserved his punishment, but anyone who has a Rasta as a partner and father of their child would already be extremely knowledgable in regards to every aspect of the religion and all it entails and subsequently be aware that to feed, allegedly feed, threaten to feed etc pork to his child would not be tolerated. That said, I hope he's learnt his lesson and will think twice before lifting his hand a second time.

What a ting.. imagine as Rasta you hear your children talking about they want pig tails.. she's lucky he didnt find a scotch egg under their pillow. No wonder he went overboard. Probably was kicking her with his leather cow hide shoes as well. You have to wonder was she a Rasta or she just met one.
