Supportfor Toyin after his arrest?"... Speaking on Colourful Radio, Simon Woolley from the heavily government funded organisation, Operation Black Vote said; "It doesn’t make us look professional and dignified… I know the individual. He stands up at many meetings making gestures. It’s got to be more than gesture politics. It’s very easy to find 15 minutes of fame. Is it about him or is it about the issue?" Woolley then took it upon himself to call Toyin’s family when they were concerned about his welfare in police custody, and distress them further by describing his actions as a bid for "fifteen minutes of fame" ..."

Remarkable scenes - several hundred African appeared to be present outside Charing Cross Police Station. Libations were poured for our ancestors outside Downing Street. Our Brother Toyin Agbetu has been asked to return to Charing Cross Police Station on Wednesday 30 May 2007 at 1.00 p.m.

I expect several thousand Africans to be there.

Following on from the back of this BIG show of support for Toyin I personally hope two things happen.......

1. That people maintain their support of Toyin and Ligali in whatever way they can in the future....

2. That certain people UNDERSTAND that we do not need the patronising sermons and questioning of our collective commitment, to motivate us, its uneccessary and insulting.

Great picsniceone.gif

I can't believe how this thing about personal gain seems to be how our own "politicians" see this. This really says alot about this narrow way of thinking. First Sewell is using it to back out of talking to Toyin and now Woolley joins in. There is no personal gain for Toyin they really need to zoom out alittle.

It's like they JUST AREN'T GETTING ITblkpoke:XJust clicking Ligaliwould be start jeez......bring on Wednesday 30 May 2007 at 1.00 p.m!!

Not to take the glory away from Toyin but that's a serious blue hat my man has got on ....we need our reparations fast! - that or the lox must be trying to escape! But yeah...he gave his support!

K - patronising? insulting? surely you mean humourous? still, I know what you're saying...it's those kind of tactics that actually gives people the right to make a conscious decision not to go.

No charges are to be brought against Brother Toyin Agbetu as it is not "the public interest" ...

No charges for slavery protester
