This song was played on the talk radio host Rush Limbaugh's show. Is this racist, orpoorlyconstructedsatire?

I'm not concerned about Barack at all. If anybody attacks him, his rich white followers have enough money to launch their own smear campaign. He's not getting MY vote, that's for sure!

Well, I watched the annual state of the Black union address, as I do every year, and I dont' recall Jackson or anyone else saying anything negative about Obama. Maybe I was taking a bathroom break when this Obama bashing occured, but I doubt it. It would be particularly strange for Jackson to call Obama a stooge of the Democratic party when he himself has done more over the past 20 years to deliver Black votes to the Democratic party than most(and gotten little from it, some would say). His son is Democratic Senator from Illinois, so he and his fam are very much a part of that party. Obama is new to the game and hasn't delivered anything thus far, so that criticism wouldn't even make sense. Another reason that I'm pretty sure that Jackson and no one else has said that, is that if they had, the Cracker media would have been all over it. They LOVE shit like that. They love to create/exploit differences/rifts between and among Black folks. My bullshit detector is going off in a major way. Stop going for the okey doke, folks.

It's funny to me that the Obama lovers want to keep insisting that Sharpton, Jackson and Black folks in general don't like Obama, feel negatively about him, yet the only people I see being negative, are some of these die hard Obama supporters who can't seem to discuss him without talking out of their ass about Jackson, Sharpton, or AA's etc. It's almost like they want Sharpton and Jackson to dis Obama sothey canuse fake beef/conflict with Jackson and Sharpton to further ingratiate Obama to white folks or something.. In a "see Mr. Charlie, Obama is safe, he's not like THOSE ******s, that's why they don't like him" kind of way. Pretty pathetic and Uncle Tomesque, in my estimation.

If someone knows what thread the video link is in, please post it, I'd love to see it.

Thanks for the link, Shemsi.

For the record, the person in it is Dr. Cornel West, not Jesse Jackson. I remember this part of the program well. It didn't occur to me that this is what was being referred to, because there was nothing in it that manifested "dislike" of Obama.

Dr. West started off his comments by saying that "Barack is a decent, brilliant, charismatic brother"....if that constitutes negativity, dislike, and bashing, I'd like to sign up for some of that my damn self, lol.

Dr. West was CORRECTLY stating the fact that Black folks need to criticallly ANALYZE any and every candidate put before them, including and ESPECIALLY Black ones, imo. Not just blindly assume that everyone that looks like us is for us. We aint new to this, we damn sure oughta know better than that, by now. Some Black candidatesjust think they should be able to just "show up" and Negroes are supposed to all fall in line behind them, just because. West was just trying to make sure that Obama and everyone else knows that we are not the ones, and some of us don't intend to be treated like back alley hookers, by him or anyone else. So we while we may understand his need to appeal to mainstream, read white folks, he needs to understand that if he wants our votes, hes going to have to work for them.

I don't automatically give my vote to crackers who have been annointed as the 2nd coming and savior of Negroes(a la Bill Clinton whom I DIDN'T vote for), and I won't automatically give my vote to a Negro, either, especially not SIMPLYbased on the fact that Crackers like him and have adjudicated him "acceptable", for THEM. Acceptable/desirable for them doesn't necessarily mean acceptable/desirable for ME.

The point he brought up about the distancing and walking the tightrope of not "scaring" white folks was real. The point he brought up about questioning the money source behind Barack and every other candidate is real, and analyzing how that is going to affect a candidates action. Any fool knows that someone giving you money(particularly large sums of money)is LIKELY gonna want something in return, wanna have some say in what you do and how u do it.

Now I happen to know that Obama has received a very high percentage of his money from small money, everyday people donors(cuz Ipay attentionthings like that). That's good. It's better to receive a little bit of money from a lot of everyday folks, than a lot of money from a few big money donors who will invariably want to pull your strings. Of course, Obama like all the other candidates(except independenly weatlthy ones like Ross Perot back in the day), is receiving the lionshare of his money from big money interests. It would behoove Black folks and any other people with 2 brain cells to rub together,to know who those people are and how that is affecting his movements/agenda.

Case in point, Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans is a "brother", but he is a brother who was cultivated, handpicked and financially backed by old money white business interests. So it's not a suprising or coincidental that when Hurricane Katrina happened, "brother" Ray's first instinct/concern was to protect the French Quarter business interests of his backers, and not to protect the LIVES of his people. He got around to that eventually and was passionate about it when he did, but still.....
