Murder inquiry after woman shot







A post-mortem examination is due to take placeA 22-year-old pregnant woman has been shot dead in south-west London.
The victim, who has been named as Krystal Hart, was found in the hallway of a flat in Belleville Road, Battersea, at 1110 BST.
She had suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Scotland Yard said officers were investigating the possibility that the shooting was connected with a dispute over parking.
Det Ch Insp Colin Sutton, who is leading the investigation, told BBC News 24: "There had been some pretty low-level dispute between this unfortunate victim and her neighbour and it may be that that's got some bearing on what happened, but certainly nothing in the past has happened here of this magnitude."
Police are talking to Ms Hart's partner and her neighbour as witnesses.
Mr Sutton said officers would be reviewing CCTV footage from a camera on the building.
"We are hopeful that that will show us exactly what events took place," he added.

Local people described their shock at the shooting in the "well-to-do" area of south-west London.
One man, who gave his name only as Glen and lives two roads from where the shooting took place, said the area was not used to violent crime.
"Not in this part - maybe on the other side of Clapham Junction where there are some big estates but not here," he said.
"Here it is young professional couples and generally quite a well-to-do area."
Another local man, who only gave his name as Rory, said: "Northcote Road, which is nearby, is known as Nappy Alley because it is full of mums in 4x4s (or) walking with prams."
He said the road was once a market but is now full of fashionable cafes and boutiques.
This incident follows the shootings of five other south Londoners, three of them teenagers, in February this year.
All the victims were male.

MarcusGarveyLives. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to score points over this murder. Regardless of race, a pregnant young woman is dead. What if the murderers are black men. What message would that send. How would the black community react if a white or asian man shot a pregnant black woman in London. That you dare to associate the name of Marcus Garvey with yourself and such inhumane comments angers me. You are not worthy to use his name.

It is not histerical to be critical of your flippant comments regarding the murder of a pregnant woman. Regardless of the race of victim or criminal, it is an evil crime. We all know that every race includes within ita criminal element. So the only response of an honourable man to such a crimeshould beto condemn the criminal and pity the victims. I would expect more from someone who chose to associate themselves with the nameMarcus Garvey.

I clearly used the word IF, regarding the killer,to makethe point that race should not be the issue, as I only know what I have seen and heard on the news.We should feel pity for all mudered women and children and anger towards the criminals, regardless of race.
