By Roman Wolfe
Date: 5/9/2007 1:15 pm
Rapper Nelly has inked a deal to distribute his Pimp Juice energy throughout the continent of Africa.
The rapper entered into a partnership with Mojalife to distribute Vokal, Apple Bottom Jeans and the Pimp Juice brand.
"We have already pre-produced 1.5 million cans for South Africa and we are looking at producing between 1 and 1.5 million units locally every month," Mojolife's creative director Peter Friedman.
According to Friedman, Mojalife has the exclusive rights to distribute the drink throughout Africa and another 3 million cans of Pimp Juice will be exported to Nigeria, Australia and New Zealand.
Pimp Juice will go on sale in South Africa starting May 18 and will be the first line of business the union launches, followed by the African launches of Vokal and Apple Bottom Jeans.
Nelly is also establishing and launching his Derrty Entertainment record label in South Africa.

Someone needs to stop these African Americans spreading their slackness and slave mentality all over the African world. Economic mercenaries.

Have you SEEN the art work to 50 cents ''The massacre?'' as though the title isn't bad enough, its the most blatant attack on the kids out there I've seen yet and thats me saying that, if you get the chance ask to see it at your local record store.
It needs an 18+ rating not a parental advisory label.
I wanted to know if the Dagara elders could tell the diffrence between fiction and reality. The elders did not understand what a starship is, they did not understand what the fussy uniforms had to do with anything but they recognized in Spock a Kontomble of the seventh planet... they had never seen a Kontomble that big.

I agree that Afrika does not need this kind of slave/coon foolishness. But let's not pretend that Afrikan Americans are responsible for the widespread coonishness that already exists in Afrika. And AKONcame to the US from Afrika and is spreading an even worse brand of ignorance, so I guess we're even.

This attitude of Diaspora vs. Continental is evidence of your own slave mind. There is no fight between our people, why are you trying to stir one up? You are so blind with your jealousy that you are alienating the most powerful sector of Black people on Earth- Afrikan Americans. If we are going to play that game, let me point out a few things..

Name 4 modern inventions by Continental Afrikans.I would need several pages to list the inventions of Afrikan Americans. And NOBODY IN THE WORLD can resist our inventions...don't you listen to jazz, hip hop, r&b, soul, rock n roll, country, or blues music? Don't you try to dress like us? Don't you try to use our Ebonics? Thought so.

You should be proud of Afrikan Americans and you know you are, so why fall into this trap and start the divisiveness? We don't like the behavior that Nelly is promoting any more than you do. If you have such a problem with Nelly, why don't you get in the trenches and deal with your people and put a stop to it? It has to stop somewhere...why not in Afrika?

Bredder,
Uh , Nelly may be spreading his joy juice to Africa, but not every AA is contributing to it and as an AA I take offense to the generalization. I sure would like to know what kind of AA's, you 've come across because, the AA's I knew in my history book and today are freedom fighters, inventors, scientists, aviators etc. While I don't agree of Nelly spreading his Joy joice there or in my country( BTW, what make you think all AA's condone it?), I don't appreciate any body referring to me as a " slacker". People can spread all of the malicious stereotypes about AA's, but I know the truth and it's certainly not the ones that is on your mind. I'm proud of who I'am and wouldn't change it for the world.

Urgh.
This isn't going anywhere is it? We allhave our own pre colonial culturalproblems no need to boast or brag about what house massa done put us in. South Africans already have their gangster typepin upsand so do the rest of us.
Think what BT was saying is that they don't need any more of it in Africa and he hopes thatparticularaspect of disporan culturedosen't spread.
Have a friend from SA, they're not exactly angels to start with. Its probably a european owned south african company backing the drink as usual and for obvious purposes.

^ Official Pimp juice website ^
From the news story, ANC stalwart Mathews Phosa

wants you to drink his Pimp juice. In one of the most unlikely business partnerships, the former Mpumalanga premier and Afrikaans poet has forged a partnership with US rapper Nelly.
Their first venture is Pimp juice, a non-carbonated sports energy drink that sells over 2.4 million cans a month in the US alone. It will be available on retail shelves in South African on May 18. The South African Pimp Juice, though very similar in taste and look, will be carbonated to better match the taste preferences of the local market.
According to Phosa, "pimp" stands for "positive intellectually motivated persons". The song Pimp Juice, from Nelly's hit album Nellyville, was the inspiration for the energy drink. Clark Wolfsberger, CEO of Fillmore Street Brewery, who was in the country to meet with Phosa yesterday, said Nelly wanted to turn a negative connotation/ term into something positive.

Pimp Juice indeed. Tell me which other black people have exported their ****** mentality/self hatred and general rubbish more than AA's. Yes you are potential the most economical powerful people in the African world/ Time some of you started accepting the responsibility that comes which such power.
For the record the South African businessmen who are joining this venture are just as bad. But its never been hard to find a culturally bankrupt sell out has it. Wherever you go.

I think some of you are taking what BT said to personally. I don't think he mean't all AAs at all. I for onethink most AAs are cool. However, the fact remains that AAs have the potential to do so much and whenone of youget the opportunity to do some good like challenge companies like Coc-Cola, Pepsi etc in African markets, what do you do? You call it 'Pimp Juice'. The product could have easily been called something else like 'Nelly Juice' or something and it would have still sold. Its just frustrating and a great shame that many of the most visible, influential and wealthyAAs are known for negative stuff across the world. AAs should be demanding that they do better and not allow them to make fools of you.But please don't think that I'm dissing AAs, far from it. You guys are so creative and have so much potential its insane but as someone else said, with power comes responsibility.I would also add that you've got to start living up to your potential as you have the powerto help all Africans.
With regards to Akon, BT has probably heard of him butAkon's a clown, a complete non-entity and not even worth mentioning. He's not seen as a serious artist by most of the over-12s.
