Lol...if thats something to be proud of or be impressed by, perhaps it would be smart to keep in mind that these are the same Japanese who tortures their hair with blond bleaching and are having population growth problems because their women would rather sleep with white men than procreate with their own......they would emulate anything NON Japanese.....that picture should actually be embarrasing to black people more than anything.....who isn't tired of "Barber shops" images with us seating around looking like manequin loosers?
Quite frankly, Vibe magaziine is VILE.....its survival this long is telling and says a lot about the millions of Africans worldwide who buys it and support this embarrasing depiction of "black dumbness"

oh FFS not this again. some of you need to breathe a little. i for one am not ashamed to see pics like that. i might have been if it were a bling bling wanna be thuggish look, but i think the larger picture vibe is trying to portray is that black culture is experienced worldwide, and i cant see anything wrong with that. even though the biggest machine of black culture since the new millenium has been Hip Hop...and there are many sour grapes amongst them, there are still alot of positive influences.
dont be so small minded to think that all japanese are racist or dont like black people..most of you who claim this have NEVER been to japan.
i also find it even sadder if some of you can blast magazines like vibe..yet will wait drooling at the mouth for HEAT, COSMO,VOGUE, GRAZIA, HELLO and the rest Bullsh*t out there. (and i say BS cos they do not represent me.and only choose token black idols once every year)
if you want to read about black business..there are magazines for it, if u wanna read about pretty much anything that fully represents black culture there is a magazine somewhere doing that. you cant expect every black magazine to give a detailed report on how exhibit A (a black man or woman) paid his/her taxes today, obeyed the law, and is striving for peace in the world.
dont knock vibe for being very good at what they do. its a frigging entertainment magazine. japanese people may never pick up black enterprise..but will read vibe and learn SOMETHING about black culture even if it is liking how they dress. what they do with it is down to the individual.

I think that some of them have naturally afro hair. I saw an oriental woman on the train and her hair was more nappy than mine. It didn't look like she put chemicals in it either. I saw an oriental teenager but his fro was so big h must have been mixed race despite looking 100%South East Asian.Maybe some of these people could have black in them from AA soldiers in WW2?

This is nothing more than a new TREND/STYLE for these Japanese people. Next week it'll be punk rock, country or something else. Enjoying an occausioanalsong by 50 Cent or some other hip-hop artist does NOT PROVE any kind of Black kindship/experience.....................

Well Mez, I follow your logic, however, I know from past experience that some Japanese women aren't into 'white men' as you suggested. When I was doing my undergrad degree (back at home), I had a Japanese roommate.
As time went on, she opened up to me about her preference of men. And like others, she too became conditioned by the image of white males by way of watching Hollywood movies. During that time, Brad Pitt was the latest crave of young Japanese girls, however, her attitude quickly changed toward white males as a result of being surrounded by 'southern white boys' and their lack of depth of her cultureas well as the way they behaved. She was on the verge of returning back to her country but opted to stay to learn English andbe able to do a qualification at BPC.
Also, she had an American white host family, and just before the Christmas break, she shared with me (and my Mother) that the olde white man was touchingonher inappropriately. My Mother felt sorry for her and offered her a chance to come home with us. She declined the offer, and remained in the dormitory. I assisted this girl with her English but grew tired of the constant studying because it was keeping me from sleeping and I had morning classes.
Well after I helped her, she went to the dormitory mother requesting a new room. I was younger at the time and became very upset because I did help this girl and felt like we were really friends, so after she went behind my back I became upset.
This lead to a lost ofcontact. Its kind of funny now, looking backon it: the ways of collegekids.Because at that time,Ifelt that she played the victim to get what she wanted, and then had the nerve to leave me a gift, honey I felt like a damn fool for being used. She didn't even say goodbye nor share with me when she was moving. I attempted to find out her real reason of relocation but the dorm mother didn't reveal it to me. (She was an olde bigot anyways.)I knew something was up but learntto let it go as my Mother and Biology professor instructed me to do.I will give the girl prompts for usingthe old ...poor me move....
She ended up moving into another dorm room, and then aweek laterhad the nerve to get her Japanese friend to ask me for myold English books. All I will say is that she was a slick one...
Justas you saidthat abouttheir attraction to white males, thisgirltruely thought that she would find her white prince untilreality hit her whilst her friend was loyal only to Japanese men. Anyways, today she is currently marriage to a West Indian male and not attracted to white boys: Experience became her teacher.
About fouryears ago, her husband even had the nerve to email me after learning from one of my bestfriend that I was residing in England;hewent on to brag and inform me that he was married my olde roommate. I told his great...I didn't understand it, I haven't talk to his cat for years and "out of the blue", he saw my personal website, heard from my boy that I was marry, so he emailed me. Itwas more likereading aCV ratherthan trying to catch up with a oldecollege friend. Anyways I'm going off the topic a bit...

Afrocentric girl statements says it best: "This is nothing more than a new TREND/STYLE for these Japanese people. Next week it'll be punk rock, country or something else. Enjoying an occausioanalsong by 50 Cent or some other hip-hop artist does NOT PROVE any kind of Black kindship/experience"
