I'm not averse to conspiracy theories, you know, when they are based on strong evidence, but the response of some of those polled just makes them look, at best - like idiots, or worse --sociopaths.

A Channel 4 News survey of 500 British Muslims, carried out by GFK NOP, has found that nearly a quarter don't believe the four men identified as the London bombers were responsible for the attacks.

And a similar number say the government or the security services were involved. Nearly six in ten of those polled believe the government hasn't told the whole truth about the July the 7th bombings - and more than half say the intelligence services have made up evidence to convict terrorist suspects.

They may be right. How else would the government justify bringing in new laws cutailing basic rights. People in power are ruthless and will do anything to maintain it.

So I wouldnt rule it out.

Before 9/11 took place the US security services had most of the suspects under observation even before they landed on US soil. Staff at one of the flying schools which they attended, informed the authorities that something was 'not right' with the suspectswhile they were being trained to fly light aircraft...but 9/11 happened anyway.

If THEY believe these people are up to no good then why not stop them?

It does demonstrate the limited utility of things like message boards, chat rooms and the like for furthering debate when one is confronted with the basic underlying reality that many people are essentially nuts. It doesn't matter what evidence you present or how well you argue your case - they will not be listening. There is no doubt at all that governments conspire and that their agents will cheat, lie and murder but 7/7 was perpetrated by jihadists -couldn't be any clearer.

Conspiracy theories are one thing - but when one of the bombers admits ON VIDEO to Al Jazeera what he plans to do, the evidence is "beyond reasonable doubt".

And what about the moon - have you ever actually been there? It could be an MI5 conspiracy to convince the world that the moon exists - when in reality it's just a gigantic government satellite to spy on us all - especially Muslims!
