I disagree CM. ****** is probably the safest racial epithet it's possible to utter.

I have seen that "faux pas" and that Charley is the Biggest b**ch I have seen. The comment was not meant in any spiteful way, although, both the other girls could have used it as an opportunity to educate the bimbo.

Instead, Charley has used the "unguarded" comment as leverage to get rid of Emily, by going on, and on and on and on, and letting "slip" to anybody she can what was said.

Charleys behaviour is worse than the comment made, because she is using a comment for a political game plan.

Prior to that it would have appeared that "Emily" was her closest ally. I think that's the difference between "Jades mob" using it for invective and Emily "trying to be Hip".

They have made Emily a scapegoat for their lack of action in the previous show. As previous mentioned an opportunity was lost by having Charley and Emily speaking in private with Charley explaining why the word was an offensive one, but she herself admitted using it, but saying "But it's all right I am black" mad-mooniemad-moonie

i am not watching bb this time around. maybe if theres some big fight (but then it will be swiftly dealt with by CH4 out of fear)...

the girl can take comfort from the fact that there is at this moment a premiership black footballer seeking her number, with whom she can marry and prove us wrong that she isnt racist. banana.gif

After watching the incident, which c4 decided to broadcast, i think it was definatly scripted. It didnt seem in her character to say that kind of thing, it was definatly scripted.

A different view coming up: I don't think that kicking this girl off the show was the right thing to do, personally i would rather C4 use this occurance as a learning point to highlight the negativity of the word. I suspect that Emily who got kicked off doesn't know why it happened, Charley definately doesn't have a clue and i suspect the wider audience will instead of seeing this as a positive will instead view this as political correctness gone mad..

So i would argue that the whole thing is counter productive,....

Channel Four doesnt make decisions with our interests at heart. The decision to screen last nights episode was based upon ratings nothing else.

If veiwers thought that CH4 were to omit everything controversial, the impact would be counter-productive, as it would be generally known the show will not screen any 'Juicy' incidents.
In light of the previousevents, If they didnt kick her off this time itreally would have been the end of BB. So what do they do instead? cleverly milk it for what its worth.

I somewhat agree and I have mixed feelings about it. With the Shilpa thing the girls were bullying her and using her race as a means of attacking her.

In this case the girl was friendly with Charley, probably one of her only alliesand certainly didn't seem like she wanted to hurt her feelings or attack her like the girls did with the Shilpa thing.

I think as someone else said, with the hip hop and grime culture being marketed to white youth, it is not being made clear that they cannot use the words that their rappers use.

Hopefully this will start a backlash against british rappers and artists using the word, like what happened with Richards in the US.

She is very ignorant and offended many many black people, however I don't believe she has negative feelings about Charley because of her race.

Hard to know tbh without knowing her personally but that is my view

I've just been reading the BB forum on digital spy and let me tell you i've alwaysknown how racist some white people were but bwoy some of them are 100% certain that its Charleys fault that Emily called her a ******. In fact its all black people's fault that Emily chose to use the word because apparenetly we all use the word everyday. There's even one blaming 'loud, argumentative black women on chat shows'??! Some are even talking about protesting to get Emily back and throw Charley out because its Charley's fault. What they wanted Charley to do was keep her mouth quiet so that Channel 4 could sneekily edit it out but they are upset that Charley exposed the racism. Some are saying its okEmily said it because 'our' songs are homophobic. Maybe she should've kept quiet like a 'good ******' and just been happy they let her on their show. There's one black man there tearing them a new arshole, he said that if Emily had called him a ****** BB would have had to throw him out for violence. Some of the white people have said he has a 'chip on his shoulder' and have run to the mods calling him 'aggressive and violent', like he's supposed to quietly accept that someone has called him a ******. Go figure. This countryreally hasn't changed since the 70s as much as they pretend it has. Unbelievable.

@ babygirl

There are more posts on Digitalspy from people who think Emily was racist and deserved to be booted

Some say Charley tried to manipulate the situation to be centre of attention, which could be the case ( Telling Shabnam and then talking her down when shabs confronted emily, bringing it up in the bedroom but then refusing to say anything. Getting hyper about being on page 2 of the papers) but most of the posters are astounded that people are blaming Charley and most of those posters are white

Nah I think the whole thing was fake. It just didnt seem genuine to me. Also no one in their right mind would be stupid enough to say that, even if they really wanted to. C4 is a disgrace.
