I was speaking to an an adult about this over a year ago, and he was telling me that back in the day, carnival would go on through thye late evening. Now that whole late night element has been hijacked by nightclubs who want to capitalise in the momentum of carnival

It makes me sick seeing asians, chinese all with their stand selling their food in carnival. Do these people contribute their profits to the event.

RIP NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL,. ITS BECOME THE.........EUROCENTRIC/ BAME/BME/PERSIAN/KURDISH/CHAVISH/ MELA/ASIAN/PARTY IN THE PARK/O2 FESTIVAL/GLASTONBURYWANNABE/ T4 SUNDAY PARTY IN THE PARK/BATTYMAN/ CARBOOTSALE/ POILCE SUMMIT/ LIVINGSTONS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS TOOL/......MEGA MESS
THANK YOU! YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT.
AND THAT'S THE TROUBLE WITH US A BLACK PEOPLE! EVERYTHING WE HAVE EVERYBODY ELSE JUMPS ON BOARD.

WHEN THESES ASIANS AND BATTYMAN DEM HAVE THEIR EVENTS, IT'S STRICTLY FOR THEM AND THEM ONLY!!! (NOT THAT I WOULD WANT TO GO TO A BATTYMAN EVENT BUT THAT BESIDES THE POINT). THE POINT I'M MAKING IS THAT WHEN ARE WE GONNA ORGANISE FOR OURSELF AND OURSELVES ONLY?!

There are already events which are organised by us for us

  • Kwanzaa
  • African Remembrance Day
  • Afrikan Liberation Day
  • Marcus Garvey Black Family Day
  • The Nuwaubians have Family Day, etc
  • Nigerian Carnival, etc
  • There are a whole load of African events advertised on channels like Passiontv, OBE TV, BEN TV VOICE OF AFRICA RADIO ETC

The reason why the NottingHill Carnival issue hurts, is that it has such a great history, its legacy, it was a day to look out for in the calendar. It was place where you could mellow out and ofrget about the europeans, a place where we could be ourselves, a place where you could even meet old friends you havn't seen in years.
