Concluding remarks...thanks all -

I wish to say thanks to all the thoughts expressed
Now to tie up all my approach to this thread...
I was speculating with great enthusiasm but I had to tune into what Gmahogany.
Initially I wanted to say that since Obama did dirt leg work in Chicago, something that Hillary did not take advantage of, it became a lost because Oprah gave her support and resource to him.
Now Hillary is scrambling to get Chicago ministers on her side.
But as the thread got so much interesting, I wanted to leave some markers and now its time to put it together.
So, here concluding version of this matter.
Ever heard of the expression "I can read him or her like a book"
Gmahagony made reference pardon me if I am misquoted you

Well Obama unlike any other politician, even the Clintons in their start to federal level politics did not write an 'autobiographical' book about themselves expressing their hopes and desires and especially fears.
Perhaps that is Obama's biggest error and why John Edwards is still around taking away what should be his and an easy win.
John Edwards read the book and is involved some political matters of the black community mainly of the South. Winning some support in the process,
Everyone can read him like a book.
That autobiographical book he wrote published in 2004 <key> doomed him this election because his enemies know him more than he knows them.
Obama is done for.
Here is what I mean
Chicago Reader: What Makes Obama Run?: Lawyer, teacher, philanthropist, and author Barack Obama doesn't need another career. But he's entering politics to get back to his true passion--community organization.
The above link has partial nudity of a woman backside in a non offensive manner.
But the article expresses the matter of "reading him like a book"
Now I want to get back to Chicago...
Michael Jordan in similar straights like Oprah had no political inclinations but he did this

Michael likes Obama too
Editorials
If anyone doubted the degree of enthusiasm that exists for the candidacy of Barack Obama, who has forged ahead in the polls in his bid to win the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, consider this: Michael Jordan contributed $10,000 to his campaign.
That's right, Michael Jordan, who has always been careful not to express any political views or come out on the side of any politician for fear of compromising his assets as a businessman, is supporting the state senator from Hyde Park. What's next, a pronouncement on Iraq?
One is tempted to say that Jordan, who has kept a pretty low profile lately, stepped into the political spotlight to draw some of that old attention to himself. More likely, he has been drawn to the smart, attractive, charismatic Obama the same way so many people are drawn to those qualities in Jordan. It's not difficult to envision Obama becoming a superstar in the Senate, and in even a higher office. But first things first. He has to show he can perform in the clutch, just as Jordan did so many times in tasting glory with the Bulls.

That was in 2004 also
NEWSMEAT - Michael Jordan's Federal Campaign Contribution Report
What is politically non active Jordan doing with Obama.
He even told the media he had no interest in politics.
He is possibly in the same category as Oprah.
Why be involved with Chicago business from Washington DC. There is too much work in Washington DC for Jordan to be worry over Chicago matters.
How did Jordan know Obama would be a presidential material and not only that invested money for him.
Interesting none the less.
Did he read the same book Oprah read in 2004 too
Quote:
Winfrey met Obama and his wife, Michelle, on the Chicago social circuit before his 2004 Senate bid, and they have remained friendly since. It was two years ago, when the Obamas attended the white-tie Legends Ball at Winfrey's Montecito home, that Winfrey first broached the idea of doing something she had never done before -- hosting a political event.
"I was saying wouldn't this be a great place for a fundraising," Winfrey recalled in an interview rebroadcast on her Web site. "I said it jokingly."
Since then, Winfrey has had the Obamas as guests on her television show, featured them in her magazine and gushed about the senator's potential to change American politics in repeated public appearances.
"For me, this was the moment to step up," she said in a recent radio chat with friend Gayle King.

Chicago style once again.
Obama made a critical mistake in his bid for presidential candidate and his talents definitely will not be enough.
He seems to have the heart of his campaign but he let others be the brain and since the heart isnt pumping enough blood to the brain there has been stroke symptoms in Obama camp.
Obama's early goal early on was to be Mayor of Chicago. That meant he had to challenge Mayor Daley for that seat.

Rare Daley move: Endorses Obama for primary
December 20, 2006
BY FRAN SPIELMAN City Hall Reporter
Mayor Daley has decided to abandon his long-standing tradition of remaining neutral in Democratic primaries and endorse Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential race, City Hall sources said Tuesday.
"Here you have not only an Illinoisan, but a Chicagoan who is a major contender for the highest office in the land. . . . When in our history have we ever had a favorite son this close to [the White House]? Why not get on board early?" said a Daley confidant, who asked to remain unnamed. "Hillary Clinton has been a great senator, a wonderful civic leader. But logic dictates that a Chicago mayor would be behind the Chicagoan who has taken the world by storm. Beyond that, this man has tremendous potential. The world sees that. It stands to reason that the mayor sees it."
Daley's early endorsement will mark the second time in 17 years he has taken such a stand before Democratic primary voters have made their choice.
Mayor Richard Daley would endorse Sen. Barack Obama in the presidential race.
(AP)
In January 1998, he endorsed Vice President Al Gore with the presidential vote nearly two years away. Daley's brother Bill Daley, then U.S. Commerce secretary, later became Gore campaign chairman.
This time, the Daley brothers are solidly in Obama's camp.
|
Did Daley read that book too. It's getting too ridiculous. Obama how could you let people who don't know you well enough even considered enemies nor did they want to ride on your book brother.
They know how you operate, brother Obama.
They will suffocate and smother you with much granduer and little remorse.
Obama you said that was your greatest fear and you wanted to be an example to us for inspiration.
That is perhaps why that Playboy donation can slide.
And lastly what brought about this is

That quote have a tinge of truth in the environment we all find ourselves. I do give people the benefit of the doubt but Oprah seemingly might fall into this category.
From the last two links I posted I strongly figured out Oprah's true intentions win or lose from Obama, deducing what she is after. She will have to come out of her 'zone' to acheive it and Obama is already ' read like a book'. So it's well worth the risk.
I will not divulge because Oprah apparently operates in secret alot more than most people realize and that is one reason she is rich.
I can aleast survive another day unlike what Bill and Hillary Clinton did with the black community. Which Obama should be pressing her on.
That's next.

Mayor Daley link: Rare Daley move: Endorses Obama for primary :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Elections
So this may be a US thing but it did touch off global headlines.
Remember when former President Bill Clinton wanted to produce in inner cities something called 'empowerment zones.'
I thought of those at the time like death camp for young black men and the community at large.
And it turned out to be that.
There happens to be a link in professional business forum about apartments being converted to condos.
Many which happen around former public housing where empowerment zones take place.
Here is a link about 'empowerment zones'
Empowerment Zones: Information from Answers.com
Since then many poor residents are being moved out due to market forces who took advantage of these empowerment zones.
The main direct emphasis of empowerment zones was on improving job skill development to wean off poor people from welfare, now it created a underemployment camp.
HALF OF BLACK WORKERS nationwide have poor paying jobs, UC study concludes
San Francisco Sentinel » Blog Archives » HALF OF BLACK WORKERS nationwide have poor paying jobs, UC study concludes
This is sad piece here and its pretty much sums up those 'empowerment zones' to the T.
There are other threads in this forum addressing gentrification after the empowerment zone policies and it does not bode well at all.
We can all thank CLinton for this and Obama can use it to his advantage or continue to be read like a book all the way though.
It's always about picking the lesser of two evils.
Politics is a dirty business.
Now since former President Clinton left the White House he could have lived like a king in Arkansas with his wife Hillary Clinton, moonlighting and moonshining.
But they came to New York and lived near an 'empowerment zone'. Sucking the life out of Harlem and New York black people in general.
Why could Hillary not make it as senator of the US in Arkansas for example?
Hillary did amazing work it seems in Arkansas just as Oprah seemingly did amazing work in Baltimore.
That is a valuable question.
Thanks.

Sure I have been to Baltimore. I have some relatives in the DELMARVA region or Eastern Shore and Dale City outside DC in the NOVA section.
I understand a bit of the demographics at play.
Hey can I ask your opinion on this...
Will it improve NOVA especially in terms of black people

I went to school out in the Delmarva region, for a while, back in the day;Princess Anne and Salisbury Maryland, to be exact. Those parts of Maryland were like night and day, from the parts that border DC, or other parts of Maryland, like Baltimore; very rural, country, even(way more rural than anything i've seen in the so called Deep South, since I moved here) , at least back then.
I'm not so sure about that plant helping Black folks in NoVA. I spent part of my childhood in the Alexandria and Arlington areas of Northern VA, and there seemed to be more Black presence, influence, though, still solidly white. In recent years, it seems MORE white to me,(when i visit at least), then largely Vietnamese and other Asians. That could be cause my fam eventually moved across the river, to Prince Georges County, which is Blacker than Black: poor Black folks, working class Black folks, middle class Black folks, wealthy Black folks, but everybody is Black, lol, and I got accustomed to NOT seeing white people, at all, lol. The biggest number of Blacks I see in NoVa, when I'm there, are Ethiopians. Herndon is considered the boondocks, and doesn't even have the Black presence that Alexandria and Arlington have. I'm not even sure if it is Metro accessible. If it is, maybe it will make some difference, if not, probably not.

Poll: Black support helps Clinton extend lead

(CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton's lead over Sen. Barack Obama, her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is growing among African-American voters who are registered Democrats, and particularly among black women, a poll said Wednesday.
Among black registered Democrats overall, Clinton had a 57 percent to 33 percent lead over Obama.
That's up from 53 percent for Clinton and 36 percent for Obama in a poll carried out in April.
The 26-point difference between black women and men underscores the fact that the nation's vote is divided not only by race, but also by gender, said CNN political analyst Bill Schneider. "Black women don't just vote their black identity," he said. "They also vote their identity as women."
Among white registered Democrats, Clinton drew 49 percent support, versus 18 percent for Obama and 17 percent for former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, the latest poll found.
The question had a sampling error of plus-or-minus 6.5 percentage points.
The former first lady's strongest support among blacks came from black women, 68 percent of whom identified her as their likely choice, versus 25 percent who cited Obama, the senator from Illinois who is African-American. Watch Bill Schneider examine CNN poll results on black political support »
Black men who are registered Democrats were nearly evenly split, with 42 percent favoring Clinton and 46 percent favoring Obama. The sampling error of that question was plus-or-minus 8 percentage points
Black registered Democrats also appeared more sure of themselves than did whites, with two-thirds (67 percent) of blacks saying they would definitely support whichever candidate they had said they favored, versus one-third (33 percent) who said they might change their minds.
White registered Democrats appeared more open to persuasion, with only 45 percent saying they would definitely support that person, and 54 percent saying they might change their minds.
Overall, registered white voters polled appeared nearly evenly split between the two major parties, with 45 percent saying they would definitely or probably vote for the Democratic presidential candidate, and 47 percent saying the same about the Republican presidential candidate.
That question had a sampling error of plus-or-minus 6 percentage points.
But black voters appeared overwhelmingly likely to vote Democratic, with 80 percent of them saying they were definitely or probably going to cast their vote for the party's candidate.
Just 13 percent of blacks said the same thing about the Republican candidate.
Clinton maintained an overwhelming lead among black registered voters when pitted against former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, besting the leading GOP presidential candidate 86 percent to 13 percent.
But when the same question was asked of white registered voters, the senator from New York's lead vanished, with Giuliani outpolling her 57 percent to 40 percent.
That question had a sampling error of plus-or-minus 6 percentage points.
The questions were asked based on the absence of former Vice President Al Gore from the race. He has repeatedly said he has no plans to run.
But, were he to change his mind, and if he won the Democratic nomination, the poll found that 52 percent of 927 registered voters queried said they would choose him versus 46 percent who cited Giuliani.
Among blacks, that lead was 78 percent for Gore versus 20 percent for Giuliani.
In response to poll results showing him trailing Clinton, Obama has noted that Clinton has been a major figure in national politics for 15 years, versus just three for Obama.
"The 'sistah' vote is paying off handsomely for Hillary Clinton," said Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile. "It's not only getting her the women's vote. It's also getting her the black vote."
The CNN/Opinion Research Poll of 1,212 adult Americans was carried out by telephone Friday through Sunday. The sample included interviews of 307 blacks and 762 non-Latino whites.

@CashMoney
I actually saw the Panorama feature on Obama and this was something i touched on regarding the thread where a noose was planted in the Columbia University's Professors Office....
What troubled me and shouldn't really knowing how the US operates was when some YT commentator said for all Obama's looks charisma intelligence and obvious ploy to downplay the black allegiance in order to appear more mainstream he stated that 75% of YT people cannot get past Obama's skin colour...and when they cleverly showed parts of South Carolina it was like time stood still...all the Slave quarters and stuff were still in place
In the UK because its quite small you can easily get to most parts of the country its difficult for a community to stay isolated ...but due to the sheer size of the US you might not be aware of some communities and certain practices they still uphold hence the lack of contact leading to even more ignorance
Increasingly i'm getting to understand that just like we have a very powerful woman like Oprah her primary concern is not the black community and Obama would be the same they have to serve their paymasters and play the game....this is the reality when you crave power too many compromises we would all do the same if we craved it that BAD too....
As for the intelligence stuff why now?...why not give funding to compare themselves to Chinsese Japanese Indians ...why is it always us?..they really are either still trying to subjugate us mentally or running scared with Obama in the US its only a matter of time before it happens in the UK even though the racism in the upper echelons of power is so entrenched but anything is possible..
Didn't all men emanate from Africa?
Lets not forget its a 75 year old Octogenarian so still living in them dark ages...even a little child can give you the answers as to why A is more intelligent than B..has f$$kall whatsoever to do with race
one will need a bigger lie to cover the first one

I agree! White women outnumber Blacks (of both genders) and its no doubt that Oprah holds serious clout with middle and upper class White women.
Although I am a Black woman I still can't help but be a little suspicious of Mr. Obama. He kinds of reminds me of Harold Ford. Trying to stay politically neutral with everyone. And like always with these "neutral" canidates you never know how that person you voted for is going to vote in Congress until they are elected and its too late.
