Six West Virginia residents have been charged with kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting a Charleston woman for at least a week, the Logan County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Sheriff's deputies went Saturday to a Big Creek, West Virginia, residence in response to an anonymous tip that a woman was being held against her will, the department said in a news release.
As they spoke with a woman on the front porch, "a female inside the residence limped toward the door with her arms held out, saying, "Help me."
The 23-year-old woman had stab wounds on her left leg and bruises around her eyes, authorities said. The wounds were about a week old, the release said.
"Deputies found her with two black eyes, part of her hair had been pulled out, she had lacerations on her neck, and she had been physically, mentally and sexually abused," Logan County Sheriff W.E. Hunter said.
The victim was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from the toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court, The Associated Press reported.
Deputies arrested Frankie Brewster, 49; her son Bobby, 24; Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, West Virginia; and George A. Messer, 27, Karen Burton, 46, and Alisha Burton, 23, all of Chapmanville, West Virginia. All six were held Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond each, and all have asked for court-appointed public defenders, according to AP.
Charges range from kidnapping and torturing to malicious wounding and battery.
Those arrested are white and the victim is black, and the FBI plans to investigate it as a possible hate crime, according to AP. The sheriff's department requested the FBI's participation, an agency spokesman told AP.








WOMAN who was sexually abused, beaten and forced to eat rat and dog faeces while being held captive in a West Virginian home for at least a week may be the victim of a hate crime.

Six people including a mother and son, and a mother and daughter who have been arrested are white. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, is black.

The FBI plans to investigate whether racism played a part after one of the suspects, female Frankie Brewster, allegedly cut the victim's ankle with a knife while telling her she was a "******", USA Today reported.

"The things that were done to this woman are just indescribable," Logan County Sergeant Sonya Porter said.

Anonymous tip

An anonymous tip led police to the woman who was found in Brewster's home in Big Creek, a coal mining town with high levels of unemployment. Brewster was allegedly sitting on the front verandah and told police she was alone before the victim limped towards the door, saying "help me", the Logan Country police department said.

Sgt Porter said that the woman was also allegedly sexually assaulted, stabbed four times in the leg, beaten, forced to drink from the toilet, chocked with a cable cord and doused with hot water.

Local police, who have requested the help of the FBI, are still trying to determine whether the victim knew her assailants and how she came to be at Brewster's home, USA Today reported.

Multiple charges

Brewster, 49, and her son Bobby R. Brewster, 24, have been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and malicious wounding.

Karen Burton, 46, has been charged with malicious wounding and assault. Her daughter Alisha Burton, 23, and George A. Messer 27, have been charged with assault and battery.

Danny J. Combs, 20, has been charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding.

All six have been held in custody on $121,000 bail each.

Torturing, degrading, humiliating her the way they did. I even bet they won't get two years for what they did yet torturing dogs is so inhumane that Mick Vick is maybe losing his job and going to jail for a while.

Different papers have different information, depending on which paper you read. I read she was forced to lick up blood as well.

Details emerge in W. Va. torture case

BIG CREEK, W.Va. - Inside a shed on a remote hillside
of this coalfield community, authorities say a young
black woman was tortured for days, sexually assaulted,
beaten and forced to eat rat droppings.

If she wanted water, she had to drink from the toilet.

Her captors, all of them white, choked her with a
cable cord, poured hot water over her and stabbed her
in the leg while calling her a racial slur, according
to criminal complaints. It wasn't until an anonymous
tip led Logan County Sheriff's deputies to the
property on Saturday that her ordeal ended and she was
able to limp to safety, arms outstretched as she cried
"help me!"

"I don't understand such a horrific crime being
committed here," said Johnny Meade, pastor of the
community's Apostolic Church of God in the Name of
Christ Jesus.

The motive for such brutality still wasn't clear
Wednesday, but authorities said they were
investigating the case as a possible hate crime.

At one point, an assailant cut the woman's ankle with
a knife and used the N-word in telling her she was
victimized because she is black, authorities said. The
FBI is looking into possible civil rights violations,
agency spokesman Bill Crowley said.

Investigators are still trying to determine how the
woman ended up at the property and whether she knew
any of the six people arrested or the two others,
suspected of driving her to the home, who are being
sought, said Logan County Chief Sheriff's Deputy V.K.
Dingess.

Police tape now surrounds the entrances to the
beige-and-brown mobile home where Megan Williams, 20,
was found. An extension cord runs from the home to the
cramped shed, which authorities say she was held in
with a portable stereo, a locker and a power saw.

The Associated Press generally does not identify
suspected victims of sexual assault, but Williams and
her mother agreed to release her name. Carmen Williams
said she wanted people to know what her daughter
endured.

"I don't understand a human being doing another human
being the way they did my daughter," Carmen Williams
said Tuesday from her daughter's hospital room. "I
didn't know there were people like that out here."

The suspects in the case have prior arrest records
going back several years, according to records from
Logan County Magistrate Court. Logan County Prosecutor
Brian Abraham said, "I have some familiarity with all
those individuals."

The owner of the mobile home, Frankie Brewster, 49,
was charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious
wounding and giving false information during a felony
investigation in connection with Williams' case.

She had been released from prison in September 2000
after serving five years for manslaughter and wanton
endangerment in the death of 84-year-old Polly
Ferrell, according to court records.

Brewster's son, Bobby R. Brewster, 24, also of Big
Creek, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault,
malicious wounding and assault during the commission
of a felony.

Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, is charged with sexual
assault and malicious wounding.

Karen Burton, 46, of Chapmanville, is charged with
malicious wounding, battery and assault during the
commission of a felony. Her daughter, Alisha Burton,
23, of Chapmanville, and George A. Messer, 27, of
Chapmanville, are charged with assault during the
commission of a felony and battery.

In May, Alisha Burton was accused of striking Messer
with a shovel and smashing the window of another
woman's car. Burton was charged with domestic assault
and battery and destruction of property, court records
showed. Those charges are pending.

All six remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of
$100,000 bail each, and all have asked for
court-appointed attorneys.

The home is now quiet. Newborn pups sleep in the
entryway to the small shed, their mother protectively
barking at approaching strangers. The puppies have a
blanket. Megan Williams apparently never did.

Megan Williams' right arm is now in a cast, but she
may be well enough to leave the hospital within a few
days, her mother said.

"I just want my daughter to be well and recover,"
Carmen Williams said. "I know the Lord can do
anything."

I think they are. " They yelled a racial slur at her." It's like they are trying to say well it's not racially motivated because they only said one racial slur to her. More than the racial slur is what they did to her that is more horrific with the word. The problem with them is that they do not want to world to know that a group of White people committed this crime and that somehow she must have been the aggresor to make them do this, After all screwed-up history lie about Black women being this way since slavery.

Also think about this. You have cases Like the Tawana Brawley case, the girl at Duke( And I don't care if them boys are found innoccent, somebody still needs to explain 1) how, according to the medical sources, the girl had documented rape injuries on her and 2) She has a baby and if you calculate the time that the rape happended and with that kid, it makes you wonder about it). I think that Media and the authories want to say that they girl is lying and that White folks don't so any such thing. With this case, I don;t think it would be that easy for them to lie like that.

Anybody with a criminal record like these people had should have already been behind bars!

I was in court a couple of weeks ago (for a speeding ticket) and got a chance to walk around the local building, And I tell you the US is PACKED FULL of White criminals. For some reason the news only wants to report the gang killings some stupid (wannabe thugs) do.

I've heard that supposedly, the girl went with one of them and that the prosecutor wasn't going to try it was a hate crime, but hear this: He said that he wasn't going to try it was a hate crime because with a hate crime, you only serve only 2-5 years with it, but trying them may get them more time behind bars. Either way those guys don't deserve bail and even if that was the cause it should be 5 million dollar bail for what they did to her. I hope somebody get them because they deserve everything what is coming to them.
