Zara withdraws swastika handbags
The fashion chain Zara has withdrawn a handbag from its stores after a customer pointed out that the design featured swastikas.
Zara said the bag came from an external supplier and the symbol had not been visible when it was selected.

A customer who returned the bag to the shop when she noticed the symbol said staff had been "shocked" to see it.

As well as being the Nazi symbol, the swastika is also a religious symbol for Hindus and Buddhists.

The customer, Rachel Hatton, said, "I was quite shocked - I took it back to the shop."

"Then obviously the shop assistants were quite shocked as well to find out this symbol was on there - it was not something that they'd noticed either straight away," she told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

"Had the symbol been seen we would not have sourced that particular handbag," said Zara spokesperson Susan Suett.

"As a precaution we've obviously taken the decision to immediately withdraw the item from sale on being informed of this particular bit of information," she added.

Zara is owned by the Spanish company Inditex.

I like how they say"as well as"

Its the Hindu's bloody symbol for fecks sake(truth be told if we dug far enough back we'd probably find its African origins,as with everything else) and those stupid Krauts didnt even have the brain cells to come up with their own insignia or logo, lol.

Anyway have always thought the swastika or whatever the REEEEEEAL name for this sign is,is quite a nice shape, too bad it was hi-jacked by those cro-magnons!

I aint asking for nothing, just open the door and i\'ll take it myself-James Brown.

They inverted the hindu symbol, turned it upside down. Its all to do with the Brahman caste, the Aryan invasion of india 1500 B.c and all that... Hitler took well to it all and mythologised the Aryans as alot of the europeans do today, say they come from mars were technologically advanced and all that BS. From a sign meaning peace and stability to death and destruction.

Wonder what a longsword looks like when its being held? Bit of a funny one considering they used them in the crusades and all.

Black Lion is... Agu Bu Oji in Igbo, Simba nyeusi in Swahili, the name of a hospital in Addis Adaba the capital of Ethiopia.
