This title to me epitomises everything that is wrong with being labeled by a colour - it basically says get one black you get them all yet common sense much less internal feuding suggests we are a diverse lot who fall into different categories as far left, far right or somewhere in the middle as can be....even as a minority.

I've been on this one a while and find myself questioning whether the reality is our deep rooted tribalism has us arguing amongst each other for arguments sake - by this I mean it has become quite obvious to me that many an opposing argument when stripped down are both basically saying the same thing yet consensus seems to be the hardest thing - but then isn't this politics in general, or as one person put it, for two people trying to run the same country surely they can't be that different from each other yet what one says the other says the opposite.

With our varying degrees of political awareness and consciousness it would be nice to know where you stand on the left to right wing scale....I see myself as socialist more than anything else but that's socialism with 'my' peoples interests at heart first. I say 'my' people but would I win a vote from those among us who choose to disassociate themselves from Africa where as much as I see myself as a socialist many would class me as right wing which in a majority black country (where there'd be less emphasis on 'my' people), I'd be seen as a dictator supporting communism.

So, when you hear someone is trying to win the black vote, what does that mean to you, it should be an insult before anything else which is why in this context, hearing people like Lee Jasper say 'the black vote is important to ken Livingstone' makes him a sellout....or is he?..

..the black vote is not just a skin colour yet given the choice, I'd vote Labour over Conservative in my 'belief' that Labour would look after black interests more as opposed to voting Conservative with who my personal financial interests would be better served - it's amazing how many bodies play off our disunity because they take it for granted within it there'll be those fighting for unity which makes them just another puppet in the game.

The black vote, if not black skin, is it simply a reference to collective poverty...even if those within the collection are disunited along other lines?

Do black politicians go touting for the white vote?

Of course they do.They go to church's to find them.
