Default The Biggest Church Congregation On Earth: Oprah's Religion/Church - 10-06-08, 04:03 PM

old news, but still good news. just hope it has not been discussed already...

i kind of find some truth in some of the things she says. for example, there is a lot of evidence suggesting what the entity God as presented in the bible is meant to represent, in real life, or attempts to augment, the conscious within each and everyone of us. each one of us, even the serial murderer, has a conscious telling them right from wrong. it is the degree to which we can go against our own conscious that determines sin and just how much of a psychopath one is going to be.

the deification of this conscious, so to speak, addresses this weakness in many people by adding much more weight to the dictates, IMHO. by this i mean, rather than just a voice from some harmless, retribution-less, toothless, trapped entity you carry around in your head, it becomes the almighty, feared God who will put your rear end into eternal fire if you do not obey...

try to understand this truth from the point of view and objectives of the people who started the very first mono theistic religion, rather than "the need to enslave the minds of the poor" spin that religions took afterwards.

what do you think of this, BNV’ers? A bunck of bull? check out Oprah's church in this video and remember she is getting major attendance levels.

Oprah is a straitforward, open minded individual. she speaks her heart, rather than her mind, so to say. that make-up gets you nowhere in this world where speaking your mind is the norm, but if coupled with articulacy and intelligence, can achieve much, plus cause wrong impressions of who she really is, thinks she is.

She is a Billion $ Illuminati scum bag that wants to preach her cancer to the rest of the Human race. She is not interested in Metaphysics or spiritual equilibrium all she wants to do is feed the hopes of the needly, weak minded and people on the brink of starvation.

Take a look at "THE SECRET!" it's full of this wishful thinking bull crap.

Part of the problem is do the people who call themselves Christians and talk about Jesus have any idea what is really going on?

What if they are correct in that Jesus is the only way but they really have no idea who Jesus was or what he was about? Is the behavior of European Christians over the last 500 years supposed to convince anyone that they know shit from shiinola about what Jesus was up to?

What do the Europeans have to say about Melchizedek? The Bible makes some pretty strange comments about him.

The encyclopedia Britannica says about the Epistle to the Hebrews,
Quote:
"The language of Hebrews is extremely polished, elegant nd cultured Greek, the best in the New Testament."
Now if any of the New Testament is inspired and one book stands out from all of the others in the original language then shouldn't that be worthy of note? Of course that won't show up in a translation from Greek. So all of us non-Greek readers would have to be told about it. Now that Melchizedek person is mentioned a total of 11 times in the Bible and 9 of them are in Hebrews.

A Lutheran minister told me that Melchizedek was a mystery man when I asked what he knew and thought about him:
Quote:
Hebrews 7:3 creates some confusion between denominations regarding Melchizedek's nature and background. This is how it stands in the KJV, describing Melchizedek as:

"Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually."

Different denominations interpret this in vastly different ways. Some say that Melchizedek is literally like the Son of God (or even is the Son of God) in that he has no father or mother. Others say that he has been adopted into Christ's lineage through the Lord's suffering, [10] still others claim that the verse has been mistranslated, and that the Priesthood Melchizedek held is what is without lineage, not Melchizedek. [11] Others claim that the verse merely represents Melchizedek's not being a priesthood holder because of lineage (i.e. "without descent" meaning not a descendent of Levi as required by Mosaic Law.)[12]
Melchizedek - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So I think things are a lot more complicated than most Christians do. The European version of Christianity means just about nothing to me but what Oprah is saying sounds pretty vague.

Oprah is an illuminati? that's a new one...

the video i posted up above engages in Oprah bashing. i scoured the web looking for an article or video that is neutral for this post, one where Oprah's church speaks for itself, but found non. i want to hear from the church in its own words, rather than watch snippets of statements taken from Oprah, by a media whose methods are already known. i want the context of those statements. snippets are not convincing by themselves, no matter how outrageaous they sound.

on the other hand, despite the bull, what i am getting from what she is saying is not denial of the teachings in the bible, but a personal understanding of the message, a personal interpretation. anyone who has been to church, has been a churchgoer, will know that interpretations of biblical teachings and messages vary from preacher to preacher, from pastor to bishop to believer.

i find that much of what she says is spiritually uplifting, very useful stuff in a world where people are as troubled as they currently are, and i really am at a loss as to why there is so much bashing of her harmless message. what should it all be about, i ask myself? making better people is what it should be about, and if her method works in that restpect, then why stop her?

I must admit being a christian that there are some interpetations of what scriptures say that go beyond the scope of the bible. from a parable you cantruthfully get several not interpetations but inspirations from one.

but as far as foundational truths like salvation and the way to be saved this is not left up to interpetation. yet there are arguments among different sects of Christianity which i ran into on my journey. i prayed for help to understand and have no doubt that God gave me personal revelation of what the truth is about salvation according to the bible. I was led by the Spirit to read and study on the matter and came to an understanding that gave me peace in my spirit.

i believe that God is Supreme and will not allow me to travel in error innocently.

oprah has made some statements that if the snippets are true can not be aligned with the bible.

i have many friends who are asking me to just read the books. i do not fear reading them. i travelled new age philosophy years ago. now you have to be open and a cream puff to follow this type of teaching. I was following baba ram das's teaching in the 70's...visualizing one's true self, and the levels of consciousness....

oprah can not be told anything now aday...she is the one who tells...she is establishing herself and exuding her power and influence...she is a powerful woman who will damage many people because she does not know what she is into. she really does mean well but her drive to be powerfull and influence is becoming or has become an obsession.

as a christian...the bible tells of strong delusions coming into the world that will fool the very elect. people of God will be drawn into these false teachings because they are not soundly taught in the word of God.

mark my word, this is only the tip of the ice berg.

when the world is troubled as it is now aday, men and women open up to try and find answers and hope. charlatans are and will crop up all around the globe with 'answers'. many will be decieved...mark my word.

And how many people were Christians in the 70's and are following Baba Ram Dass now?

It sounds like everyone has to stumble along their own path but we are all bombarded with bullshit in the process.

I don't know what "their own path" means or if it is valid. I can understand you saying that we each have to search and not necessarily accept what is given to us by culture, education or any other outside or ourselves.

if this is true then culture, family and society does not have the significance we give it. the search always begins with ourself. we have to search our all things then don't we.

i would contend that there is not "own path". Only our own method of searching.
