Kunjufu, as i rightly remember when Mandela was in prison, FOR HIS LIFELONG COMMITTMENT IN FIGHTING WHITE SUPREMACY AND WHEN HIS INTEGRITY WAS NOT IN QUESTION BY YOU OR ANYONE ELSE, it was pure white folks campaigning for his release. So If i were in your shoes i would feel embarrased to raise such a point which you're now trying to make.
Im still on dyper duties btw and can now change him with one hand whilst proving you wrong with the other...lol

Sizzla - One A Way
Positively clear, the people in the world keep forgetting their past and have gone astray
So I burn them everyday that they don't love conspiracers talk but I never fear
Positively clear, people in the world lusting for their top class
Think your actually there but buck your toe....
They sent 50 60 70 pagans I slew them off in one day...
Cleanse your ways clean up your path
ghetto youths don't bother gaze it's you first to start...
The whole of them have to bow when they see my turban...

My thing is......
Why did Naomi get chased off for her antics, but Amy Winehouse was allowed to perform? So we choose white drug addicts over African temper tantrums?

Your answer is here by more than one poster.
Naomi Campbell reprimanded by Mandela

There's definitely something fishy about the Naomi thing but again this attack and reasoning is all too superficial. Naomi and Mandela go way back over 5 years. When I first heard this my first thought was it is probably something more personal between them two or maybe after a built up relationship Nelson sees Naomi as letting him down somewhat.....the accusation of sellout is too quick without any other substance than the desire to make the accusation.
Naomi about Nelson:
She says, "He always wants to know how I'm doing. My personal life, my love life, my problems, I just tell him."
Campbell also credits Mandela with giving her life more meaning by encouraging her to get involved with charity work.
She adds, "I owe it to Mr Nelson Mandela. When he said I could lend my name to meaningful issues, I realised it was a chance to help others less fortunate.
"He made me think about Aids in Africa, which is still an issue on the back-burner. Kids' welfare is also important to me because I love children."
Mandela has no relationship white Winehouse, if it was about shunning people based on character alone probably only Will Smith would have been there so for me it is something clearly deeper than what's on the surface but agree it shouold have been handled better. Either way, if he sold out he sold out Naomi, this doesn't make him a sell out per se, as Scarface said, he didn't lick off anyone's head who didn't have it coming.

I think it's more the case of how many times do you defend someone before they become an embaraasing liability. I have no doubt he would have done the same if disrespected by Amy.
“The man himself intervened and she was pulled off the list. He was disappointed with her recent arrest — particularly as she was wearing a 46664 baseball cap at the time,” a spy told the British press on Wednesday. (46664 was Mandela’s prison number during his twenty-seven years of incarceration.)
Naomi’s spokeswoman told the Daily Mail: “Naomi had never planned to go to the concert but she has been invited as a guest to his dinner tonight.”

Well, to some folks Naomi's choice of partner and her weave disqualify her from receiving any sympathy.
So if Mandela is a sell out and he's chased off another sell out (due to fore mentioned reasons).....then no stress, all turned out nice again?

I think it is a bit to easy just to call people sell outs sometimes. I think that it is possible that London does hold some significance for Nelson Mandela. Also he is promoting his charity over here at the moment as well.
It does seem unfair though that Naomi was barred but Amy Winehouse who is also guilty of assaulting people as well was allowed to perform.
Judge J posted in his opening post that Eddie Grant and Jamelia were basically the only acts of African descent that were performing at Nelson Mandela's birthday bash.
Sipho Mabuse, Loyiso, Papa Wemba, Emmanuel Jal, Will Smith and the Soweto Gospel Choir were also on the line up.

The South African Soweto Gospel Choir, resplendent in brightly-coloured African dress, sang an a capella version of Happy Birthday Madiba - an honorific given to elders of Nelson Mandela's clan.

Four posters in the thread expressed the same views surrounding who was really responsible for Naomi's exclusion. Even so Kunjufu, using this makes for a bit of a feeble attempt to slander Mandela.
