Greetings Everyone,
OK we do it every day.....on the way there....and back we must have so many untold madness just to make it on time LOL.
Like the woman that decided to block up a one way road because she was frightened to pull out when she had the right of way ....clocks ticking times passing...children are asking what'sup because we're late already but several beeps and all kinda road rage from the newly formed queue.....she moves...your turn!

Maat: do you mean like the time my partner and I cocked up the arrangements for picking up the little ones..She thought i was picking them up..I thought she was, in the end we left them in the school...
Come 6pm I'm having a heartattacking, rushing to school, no children there, no one knows where they are...Head pounding thinking that Social service gone wid mi pickney dem...and trying to come with an explanation as to how i managed to forget them...
After an hour of searching and ringing round..I tracked my children down at some after school club.........oh the shame...

This is the first time I've ever done the school run.....
Just last week I drove past a space, and was putting the car into reverse when this man coming from the opposite way completely ignored me and took the space! I beeped and beeped, but he continued parking anyway.
I left my car in the middle of the road, banged on his window and told him in no uncertain terms that I was reversing into the space. This was helped by another mother shouting "damn right - is fe she space dat"!
He couldn't move fast enough.....smoking-devil
Iactually feel sorry for anyone living near a school. People pay no nevermind to the dropped kerbs, and people STILL park on the zigzags...I cussed a mother last week (again!) who was reversing while I was trying to cross the road with the buggy!
These people have no manners.

Lady Vee..you know your right..having a house next to or close to a School would be a nightmare.... What gets me sometimes is that people use their car, and they virtually live around the flippin corner to the school....
Or worse they insist on parking virtually by the bloody school gates..

The last time i did the school run (took a sickie) the lollipop man decided to wave the kids across the road whilst i was reversing and i nearly ended up hitting 2 of them!!!
Of course i got an earful from all parents, never again!

I wish I could contribute to this thread as it sounds like a lot of stress and fun

You guys don't know how muchI need this vent I live on a road with a school and it's crazy.
One time I'm driving up my road and I have off street parking, I get to my house and all entrances are blocked I'm pissed. My daughter like ma ma i need to go pee. And theres mad parents 3 point turnin and stopped all over the place. I wait 20 miuntes for this idiot to come back to his car.
I approach him and I'm like listen you can't park here and he looks at me and looks away. You need to move this is an entrance. He says ask me nicely and i'll move. At that point I was like you shouldn't have parked here in the first placeI not gonna ask you nicely for nothing. He replies I'll move when I'm good and ready theres no signs to say I can park here. (it's a dipped curb and blatantly an entrance)
I was vex I put my hazzards on in the middle of the street and blocked his car in blkbuttkick
I saidhe didn't care and how I'm more effected because my kids are in the car and I have to wait,at that point i proceeded to take my kids and there stuff out of the car and take them indoors. The look on his face blkclapand some of the parents clappin shoutin good on you girl didn't help matters!
I told him whenhe apologises I will tell him out he was there for about five miuntes with his dutty children in the car before he calls me a f**kingblack bitch and drives all over the curb to get out.
Needless to say henow walks to pick up his unclean childrenbighairlol

Good on you, Kamkam.
However, note this:
Parking your vehicle on someone else's land without their permission amounts to trespass.
The dropped kerb is YOUR land. If you get the boundary plans for your property you will see it clearly noted, so anyone that parks there is trespassing.
The police can (and do when there aren't any muggers/rapists/murderers to catch (!)) issue a parking ticket for this violation.
Just so you know......blkexercise

@All: Boooyyy it's pure stress but I have to laugh. What makes me laugh most though is the mad rush you see when you get there almost late and all the parents and children are running like it's the family sports day. Trust if you ever want to see a child levitate check out the school run LMAO!!
@Cash: Tek time brother...take time
@Kunjufu: Looks like I gotta hold my hands up to parking outside the gates. Well it's only for a few minutes:P
@LadyVee:Thanks for that legal info....as for the parking tickets well......

And you know what if i wasn't so mad I would take the plate number and report those fools. the school run is some serious shit we laugh now but I've seen nuff children inches form being run over and that aint funny.
Theres a mini round about at the bottom of my road I'm not the right this lady doesn't give way to me. I'm like what ever the stops about ten metres up the road cos everywheres blocked up and then starts reversing. I'm beepin like a crazy woman and cos shes shouch as hell, she aint listening and some woman has to run in the road and grab this little girl.
Now I find something to do after school so I don't have to deal with that sh*t.
Picture this school run in the snow! I live on a hill it's all about parking way off road. ttflag

Maat,
Sorry Sis, but parking outside the gates ain't on!
The zigzags are there to allow you, the driver, time to stop if a child runs into the road. If cars are parked there, both the driver's and child's vision is blocked.
I couldn't live with myself if a child was injured (or worse)because I couldn't be bothered to park somewhere else.....

@All: How are your school runs going? Did you manage to get a break over the half term?
Well my school run is now the school walk! The car broke down just before the half term ...but it was a blessing in disguise. I've turned the walk into one of my little excercise routines there and back. My daughter and I have been in stitches just at me trying to keep up with her LOL.
One thing I did though was pay more attention to the road around the school. It's caos. There are 6 spaces outside the school and they're taken up by the residents who have not been desgnated spaces because there's only side to park on....the school side. The road blocks are a daily thing and way past the school too
