@All: I meant to ask also how the other village babies/toddlers are doing too.

My little man is coming on nicely. He's getting his numbers and writing/drawing more defined and he seems to really be comfortable at his nursery with his friends. He speaks quite well and he's trying to make longer sentences to join in our conversation. He's been getting "I don't know" mixed up with "I don't care" when we ask him where something is. So his look of genuine confusion when he says "I don't care" kind of explains what he's trying to say LOL. It's quite fascinating. For a while now he's also been randomly telling me that he loves me - which took me by surprise at first mainly because he doesn't know about it properly yet. It's appreciated same way though of course.

He had his first sports day today and that was so much fun. He didn't run in as many races but seeing his likkle dinky self bobbing down the track was wonderful. Every parent ther I'm sure were beaming at their little ones running their little hearts out ahhh bless them.

I could probably go on all night on this thread but it's been a while so let me see what else is hap'nin in the village...Fill me in though family, I waan know how me niece and nephews are doing.

Make sure you give them my hugs too .
Thanks Maat, little man, still with no name (shameful i know but we will definately have it on lock down by the 30th-registration day..lol) is doing well. Hes eating, sleeping and do-doing up the place with the best of them..lol

Nice to hear yours doing well, and keep the stories coming as us novices very much appreciate the tips.

Finally registered the baby on Monday at Brixton townhall. Man the parking system down there is just too teef. Can you believe i tried to park in 6 different bays and all of them took my money without dishing out the ticket, so i just left it without a ticket, because if you're five mins late to register they turn you away. When i came out a warden was just about to give me the ticket, but once i showed him my boys big eyes and my sob story the brother had to step down....lol. Believe im writing to the teefing Council to get back my £6

Anyway Baby's growing superspeed and has put on 2.5 lbs in 4 weeks which is way more growth than normal according to midwife. Hes also got some ginormous thighs so you just know hes destined to play centre forward in the Premiership anytime soon ..lol

I always struggled with names for my children and with the last two went way over the 30 day registration. However I was told by the registra that if I wanted to I could register the baby without a name and return and fill in the details later.

Now why didn't they tell me that years earlier.

My grandson is 21 months now and quite the little man. Chatting more than his father did at his age.

I'm feeling away abit because he is at nursery now his mothers gone back to work...And apparently my grandson isn't to happy about it either. He's been throwing a lot of tantrums and doesn't want to do anything for his mother (right now she's the person who as stuck him in this place)

But I plan to to book a couple of weeks off work soon and have him down here. Spend some much needed quality time with him....and his sisters.

I don't think I ever said but I actually have three grandchildren....My sons wife already had two girls so they call me nannie also....I know I have said that my son is quite the man and a good catch for any woman....Excuse me while I pat myself on the back.

Happy to hear everyones baby is doing well....All remember to cherish these early days they go so quickly.

I arrived late on this one but still a BIG CONGRATS to you and (the one who did all the hard work) your good lady.

Hey, what do you mean 'Saxonite'? Surely you are not going to deny the little one the joy of savoring some vintage Jah Shaka?

Respect

There are those who feel that the only way to ‘prove their own worth’ is by ‘devaluing the worth of others’. You will often find that a man who is compelled to measure his substance against the substance of another, has little of substance in the first place!

No my children would be called the names i gave them whilst carrying. My daughter as 6 names on her birth certificate and then she is know by all including school by a pet name she got while I was carrying.

This name doesn't appear on her certificate and I really regret not using it. And yet it is the name that everyone knows her by....It may be a problem when she attends secondary school. In her early days of nursery school they taught her to write both her first name and her pet name. But I agreed with the school that they use her pet name...it is only a problem when new teachers are at the school.

I recall one teacher calling her by her proper name and I was like "who you talking about"...I'd forgotten her proper name. And during medical appointments rear thought they are They have to call several times befoe either of us realise.

And the reason she as 6 names is because myself and her father couldn't make up our minds. Infact several of these names were added at the very point of registeration.\, much to the amusement of the registra.

@All

I am typing this from my sons house spending weekend with my grandson...who is so damn cute....My son is screwing because my daughter in law as bought him a toy buggy to push around and my son his not having it that when he was a similar age I got him one.
