The Schools Lottery

Mon 3 Apr, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm 60mins

Every year tens of thousand of parents navigate the labrynth involved in finding the best secondary school for their kids. Some move house, some change religion, some pay for extra tuition, some pay to evade the system.

In this programme we compare the experience of kids who went through the 11+ system forty years ago, with the experience of 11 year olds today, asking if selection by 11+ has been replaced by selection by post-code.

Featuring Greg Dyke, Sandie Shaw, Nick Ross, Trevor Baylis, and John O'Farrell.
