I think the British Museam has to be must....to show them how our history has been stolen..

ok minus the geo political comment...why not the toy museam at Bethnel Green..

The monsters at Crystal Palace park...

Battersea Park is good for boating, lunch and just cycling in a safe place...so too Richmond park..

Betterstill find a Lido...althought it might be a bit too cold.. there's the one at Tooting..

Could also consider the TATE Modern, they have a children's section on certain days..where adults and children can play games of interest linke to art.. Linked to that is the SOUTHBANK walk great on a warm day..

Springfield Park in Hackney is also another great walk along the Lea Valley..as is Broxbourne further out..

Could also consider the Commonwealth institute at South Kensington..it was a bit run down when i last went..but it has some relevance to our culture (very loose i admit).

Could also considerAlexander Palace...they have ice skating there or Streatham...Ally Pally is bett IMO great view anda place to park and eat...

I had that place in my head, but could not for the life of me remember where or what the museum was ...all I could think about were the dolls.

Yeah its a library down stairs and the theatre is upstairs,a few months back my daughter ( 4 years) and I saw Anansi the spider man and we loved it. The only bad thing is she keeps asking to go to Ghana and Jamaica. And she reckons she can save her pennies to buy the whole family tickets bighairlol

Kensington roof gardens is nice place to visit. I never knew it was there until a few years ago when my dad took me to see it. They have some flamingos within strangling distance and nice fish up there, its quite pretty and strangely peaceful.

It's free but you have to check when the gardens are available for visits. The number is 020 7937 7994 Monday to Friday during business hours, or 020 7368 3993 on the weekends.

99 High Street Kensington, W8 is the address and the entrance I believe is just off High Street Kensington round the corner from the Gap.

I took the boys to the Natural History Museum last week. No 1 son loved it because the theme was dinosaurs. I also found it very baby friendly too. I found it interesting, and a great way to kill a good few hours (too many places get boring after a while).

The Toy Museum at Bethnal Green is ok, but not really big enough to hold my son's attention for too long.

Crystal Palace Park in my local park. It's great when the sun is really beating down. It also has a car racing track, where big boys (men!) make their cars and race them, as well as the famous dinosaurs (I remember going to see them with my primary school!).

Battersea Park is brilliant for picnics.

I have to say it really depends on the child.
