well my son is fast approaching 1yr in a matter of days

because he is very adventurous i have started to enforce boundaries. he understands no , leave it, uh uh etc

he likes to touch and explore and certain things i have had to lay down the law.

he reaches the gas cooker and turns the knobs so i am quite strict to that and let him know he must leave it. he is obsessed with the washer and again i must tell him, who taught him to press the off button. he loves tables and everything on it.

i have found that when i am firm he listens. he stops and looks at me. but for saying he is practically 1 he has already started giving me the 10 second water works and dry tears

what i want to ask is what techniques what did you learm through experience trial and error how to set boundaries and discipline

when di you start setting boundaries, i feel if i break him in now i wont get the terrible twos thing

You need to set the boundaries from now...and mean it!

There's no point in saying "NO", but then laughing after it!

It takes times, but eventually they learn - you just need to be consistent, as they have the concentration span of a gnat (or my Hubby)

Ladyday - he's got time..just make sure you're not competing with hubby as towho is in control of how the children should be disciplined....and doing things adverse to the boys growth as a means to prove it..
