@blessingfromgod: What I don't get is why would they want for something to happen to the child or even children. WhenI saw the distance from the restaurant to the apartments, there's no way they could have been sure or seen that their children were alright. It's too much of a risk to take.

I lost my son when he was three and he was gone for about 10 very looong minutes. The panic and deep loss that you feel is hard. He had been in front of me playing on the climbing frames one minute then I just remember making sure my youngest finished his drink and looked up again to realize my other son was gone!

Not long after myself and all the parents in the park are searching the area for him.After looking in what seemed like every realistic place possible hestrolls back up the path outside of the play area like he had just gone for a walk. He'd taken himself over to the otherend of the park andwas looking for his dad who had gone home for something?!! I was so upset for long after that. You can't keep your eye on them all the time but this situation seems careless.

To answer your question Le Moor about whether they should be strung up. Maybe not strung up but it would just be better when we know more about what information they have. From whatI saw today it seems the Portuguese are having to stay very quiet about everything while the case is going onconfused3.

Sorry, but I can just about leave my two year old with his older brother to get something from the car......on holiday I'd be even more conscious about their safety I aint leaving them an inch...I fret bout Peter File in England much less in a foreign land...that food would have to eat in the room.

The whole thing stinks, if thats how they behave on holiday. What do they do in this country in familiar surroundings?? If they soo desperately wanted time alone why not leave the kids the with the grandparents??? Either way if its english or portugese who have her, both euro's, both into children.... Who knows how this will end. The clock is ticking. But the truth will come out in the end.

BP - I wondered what the general feel of this story was. I too went into work where the majority of the work force is caucasian. I expressed my concerns about the mother, that there was something fishy about her, and was told that she is in deep shock. It is absolutely unforgiveable that people who are supposed to beeducated and professionalsto even contemplate leavingnotONE butTHREE young children alone in an apartmentwhilst they went out to EAT.For them to think that whilst they wined and dined with friends it would be enough for them to keep on checking at half-hourly intervals is irresponsibile. Were they full of wine when they went back to check etcI could not leave my children in a foreign country, unattended, to go out with friends. If I wanted to go out and there was a creche available, I would need to feel comfortable with leaving my children there before I left them. If I didnt then I am sorry they would not be left and I would just not be able to go out. I would then aim to be able to go out during the day and have them with me. It is simply not worth it taking chances like that with your children, especially when they are so young. I do hope they find the child save and well, but with every passing day and still no sign of her it gets difficult to believe ....... I pray to God that she is found!

Madeleine McCann's parents were forced to deny any involvement in their daughter's abduction after accusing questions from the German media.


Kate and Gerry McCann looked appalled when they were asked if they had anything to do with their four-year-old's disappearance.
The couple are in Berlin to try to raise awareness of Madeleine's kidnap 34 days after she was taken from the Algarve town of Praia da Luz.

During a press conference, Sabina Mueller from German Radio asked: "How do you feel about the fact that more and more people seem to be pointing the finger at you, saying the way you behave is not the way people would normally behave when their child is abducted and they seem to imply that you might have something to do with it?"

Looking horrified, Mrs McCann immediately stepped in with an answer, leaning into the microphone as she said: "To be honest, I don't actually think that is the case. I think that is a very small minority of people that are criticising us.

"The facts are that we were dining very close to the children and we were checking them very, very regularly.

"You know, we are very responsible parents and we love our children so much and I think it is only a very few people that are actually criticising us."

Her husband Gerry, his voice shaking with emotion, added: "I have never heard before that anyone considers us suspects in this and the Portuguese police certainly don't.

"Without going into too much detail, we were with a large group of people, and you know there is absolutely no way Kate and I are involved in this abduction."

Mr and Mrs McCann issued their vehement denial in front of more than 60 journalists, photographers and cameramen at Berlin's main press centre. The question was sprung as they made appeals for information about their daughter, similar to the pleas for help already made in Spain, Italy and Portugal.
