Would you Hit your child for using Swear Words S/he is gettin straight from ya MOUTH?

I had the misfortune of seating next to a misfit parent on a recent longand packedtrain journey. This mother was constantly scolding her 5 year old "blinged out"boy,in some of the worst swear words I ever heard in my life. And after a little while the boy repeated some of these words when he was not getting his way and the mother turned around and Hit him for it

What do you peeps think - do you agree with her? It was all toodisgusting to watch siting next to herand I rushed into another seat as soon as was available.

I'm not gonna say that I've never sworn at my children. I can count on one hand, though, how many times I have. It's WRONG either way, whether you do it all the time or haven't done it much at all. Having said all of that! I'll say this, I DO smack my kids in the mouth for swearing/talking back. My kids are OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER and they were TAUGHT better. So, FIRST of all, the woman was wrong for using all of those swear words towards her child, second, she should have WARNED him first. Example : "If you say that again, I'm gonna smack you!"

Monkey see monkey do is an old saying but true now as it was in the past. Children are copy cats. Do what I say and not what i do does not hold water. We must teach our children the path they are to follow by leading by example and not rhetoric.

I think it's hypocritical to box a child for swearing when he's learnt the words from YOU! I have sworn at my children before, but I was cussing so much they may not have understood!

If, however, you don't swear at your child, and never have, the fact that he feels comfortable saying these words to you show a distinct lack of respect, and the child deserves a beating.
