hi all,

is it okay for our children to call another man dad?
if we are in a new relationship he lives, eats and sleeps under the same roof is it okay then?
or he doesnt but fulfils all the expected and unexpectd fatherly responsibilites?

would this cause unessary confusion and identity problems for our children?
if their father is incarerated long term and is not pro-active?

i have found in my experiance that white people have no problems re-marrying and having new partner fulfil the role. we are more hesitant as we put our children first, is it more important to have a father figure than to not have one at all?

should it be our childrens choice? we know for most children their fathers can do no wrong until they reach puberty anyway.
