BBC Newsround flooded with complaints over coverage of Mark Speight's death | the Daily Mail

Do you agree with the BBC or the complainers on this issue..personally I think the BBC were right... btw I'm not debating the issue of the man himself, but the key question of whether children should be confronted these types of scenarios..

I agree with the comments. People die and that's life. Even Disney killed Bambi's mother in the first few minutes. Besides, he worked at the BBC and was a colleague of most of the people reporting his death. If they can deal with it...

the complainers are complaining for no reason. it simply means they had not crossed that bridge with their kids. People do pass away thats a fact.

would they be saying the same thing if princess di just passed?

lying would do a disservice

"It is not the pampered middle-class children who that story will depress.

"It is already vulnerable children from awful homes who look to children's TV as the last place of comfort.

"I am sure a team of idiotic modern day psychologists think it is normal and right to burden children with this terrible news but it is not."

Another claimed: "We live in a bad enough world as it is ... this guy has committed suicide as far as we know.

"But it doesn't have to be rammed down our children's throats."

He claimed people should "look after the innocence of children". "

Made up comments surely.....

Havent read the comments but there are far worse things on TV these people should be worrying about re their children. Take Eastenders for example..

I hadn't watched that in year but over Christmas my neices insisted on watching the special. They're 12 an 10. During the show they were excitedly telling me who was sleeping with who, who was cheating on her boyfriend with his dad, who was having affairs and all kinds of madness. This stuff they learned from a prime time TV show. I wasn't impressed.

Learning about death is one thing, all that fukery is bang out of order imo
