Black

There is no definition for the love of or the hate.

No definition for how Black love is hated by Black people.

Not really Black but a multifaceted creation that explains creation. The world from a man. No color excluded only we how are darker than the night.

Dark and light used to be together then they were separated and the lighter skinned became the afflicters ……..Afflicted by the seed we produced.

See the blacker the berry the deeper the abyss. Even when we were at the top we looked to the bottom. Blackness is a place where we all must return.

Not Really Black but a smooth caramel color. Thought that made you different but you got that thang for life.

Black not for destruction but for production. Fingerprints on everything and can’t be removed.

Black for spirituality, the color was made to absorb and to feel, got a problem with memory though. Associated with everything bad only for the good.

Black starts it all like charcoal but finishes nothing.

Despair and perseverance is our calling card and we call on them often.

I wondered where Black would take me and I have been here and there and couldn’t understand.

Black and Inside.

With poetry sometimes it is best to take it as-is. I loved this line, "See the blacker the berry the deeper the abyss. Even when we were at the top we looked to the bottom."

I put this poem up there almost two years ago and this is the first response. I thought it was a very good poembut others must not have thought the same.

HLF, that is also one of my favorite lines. I am glad that you enjoyed it,

Shalom
