These walls that surround me
Keeps me from being me
Keeps me from being
The person that lives deep inside of me

These walls that surround me
Keeps me from breathing fresh air
Keeps me from knowing
That someone else cares

These walls that surround me
Are walls that I've created
Walls that keep me from feeling pain
But with these walls that surround me I feel protected

Thank you! I could relate to this. I have been trying for years to tear down these walls I've built around myself.

I can also relate. But it seems when i feel 'safe' enough to let the walls down something happens to remind me why i had them up in the first place.

Yes, I think this poem has a very deep message to it, as I think everyone puts up their own "walls" to a certain extent.Maybe its a nessacary coping device to be able to live in thesociety that we do? Being bomardedbyall kinds ofadvertising, emotional stresses for example..

Thoughts anyone?

Thnanx ya'll......i've been trying to knock these walls down for a while

but i am always reminded of why i put up those walls in the first place which makes it ten times as hard to break down these walls.....n being truthful i dont think i want to

but thanx for the replies ya'll....i'm glad that you all felt this poem so deeply
