Adam….I wonder

I wonder how Adam felt.
So content to view what was not his from afar
So happy to live owning all that surrounded him
Gifts as far as one mind could contemplate.
Was it worth the trade?
To meet death, but to have seen?
To say Eve was his tormentor is too simple.
Too easy for me leave up to chance.
Too convenient an excuse
Was he not King of all that was his?
But I wonder, what was it?
Was it her voice?
The sound of angles
Soothing like the hush of new nights
The easy quiet of a summer’s darkness
Was it her skin?
Soft as dew filled petals
Wrapping her in living silk, flesh and body
Was it her eyes, the deep eyes of his lover.
As night was her voice, days were her eyes.
And I wonder, was she worth it?
After the realization of he had done was gone
Did he look at her with fascination?
A woman of his own.
Her beauty must have been without words
Did he gaze at her and smile….
Yes I wonder.
Did he smile?
