Am I really evil, dirty, unclean and impure?

Negative connotations through my life I endure

Oncemore, others laying claim to my identity

And what it meant to me, consideringblack as a sole entity

Not complimenting me, even quite condescendingly

I was the personification of the word as it intends to be

Derogatory and not eventrying to pretend to be

A friend to me, and not quite representing me

Temptingly, I am ushered towards a spark, a light

Do I have the heart to fight? me being as dark as night

Akid that was dark but bright, why right knowledge equals white?

Ignorance bliss in where white college people write

Look away from HIS sold story and on my missed old glory

And taking in this new information I hold for me

I now explore me pushing back"the massa" cha

Aswe take it from black to Africa

To African, to Afri-men and women not black and that meanssinning

From black to african and back to the beginning.

Back to Africa, from Black to African

Like Dead Prez I know what's happening

Not trapped in sinbut seem strapped in hymn

Praises to the lord, hope it's not an exact of him

Praising us, looking to a Lord thatwas made in us

Loving ourselves, Africans raising us

Teaching African religion and African tradition

The transition from namingone a black magician

Forgot about this thread now I'm down to lay more science

Showing our compliance, while here's the black to African alliance

Too reliant, but this is deep, examine our own thought working

I'm talking about no more hurting and not to get caught shirking

Time to put in the effort, starting with the educating the mental

No time to be sentimental overstand why languageproves detrimental

No it's not accidental, no these are no concurrence

Working on our mind state over time has been the interference

Put down from century to century, from age to age

Still goes on today, with the language we engage

The power with speech and words, no coincidence how it occured

Look at the world they call third, and the treatment that they incurr

Sticks and stones, break bones but words can destroy

Which is why language has been employed as a tool to decoy

@ My Thoughts.....

Once again my brother you have created a nice poem in that.

I'm curious, the rhythmicform that your poems have enables it to be rapped....Did you use to rap or ever thought about it?.... I think your message would be something positive to hear, as opposed to the current music jus talkin about linking girls and stuff.....

Talk US of A, is that what I hear you say

I look upon that same map and not see it round my way

Though some Africans live there they prefer the name black

Knowing they crossed seas, with that whip pon their back

Yep the Portugueseandothersattacked and we fought back with bravery

And we only talk about the Africans who got taken into slavery

Never talk bout Queen Nzinga or the Mossi States

And the Haitianswho never saw them as the boss, we great

We talk about those selling our own to diminish the links

But we united at a deeper level that most of us thinks

So when African turn to black, we can talk of the greeks

The "father of history Herodotus" him saw we far from weak

He revered what he name the black land and him dey teef

Philosophy and astrology and many religious belief

So while we quote the like of plato, aristotle and socrates at least

Lest be known wisdom came from AFRICAN not black shaman priests

See to me its deep, heavy but for you it may seem petty

Never stop past lessons, I know we ain't tired already

The etymology of black; I got to see if you notice

An innocent description or was it an ulterior motive?

SeemsI got more to say, justsome thoughts layed out in rhyme

The transition, a mind state. Mental games played out in time.

Talk Africa, pickingupthe book by the Chancellor

Williams, Killing them with historyand advancing her

Glancing far, I see the children of tomorrow

And hope it's in the footsteps ofgreat Africans they follow

Remembering days gone by, ashamed of the very name (why?)

While I touch foot upon it's soil, this is the place I lay my claim

Lay my identity, representing me and my renowned kin

Just like India Arie you know you love my...
