Autum Ashante
Anyone heard about her? The media have her down as the 'racist poet child prodigy' Can a 7 yr old be racist? very talented nevertheless. Heres one of her poems.
White Nationalism Put U In Bondage
White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirate and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
Drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel, tricks and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look in our streets
The mis-education of she and Hegro — leaves you on your knee2grow
Black lands taken from your hands, by vampires with no remorse
They took the gold, the wisdom and all of the storytellers
They took the black women, with the black man weak
Made to watch as they changed the paradigm
Of our village
They killed the blind, they killed the lazy, they went
So far as to kill the unborn baby
Yeah White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
They drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel laden feet, throw in the tricks alcohol and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look at our streets.
She performed this peom at a a high school NY for black history month. After asking white students to remain seated while she led black students in a recitation of the Black Panthers' Black Childs Plegde, Autum (now home-schooled by her single father, a Nation of Islam member and poet) then read the poem.
Afterwards Complaints from shocked students and parents led to a tape-recorded apology sent to all parents apologizing for the performance. Autum's father condemned white district officials as ' racist crackers' Autum defended her poem by explaining to the WestchesterJournal News that white people are "devils and they should be gone. We should be away from them and still be in Africa."
She defiantly told the NYPost today:
"I feel good about the response," Autum said of the firestorm engulfing the Peekskill City School District, where her recitation of a poem at a high school and a middle school offended students. "I know it was the right thing."

Its important that you know theperson who wrote this article Michele Malkin said this.
My conclusion:
Who is surprised? If you set aside a separate holiday for Black History Month in the public schools, if you set aside separate graduation ceremonies, college dorms, academic departments, recruiting programs, and government contracts and subcontracts by race, you send a message that hardcore racial separatism is not only acceptable — but desired.
Autum Ashante' is the natural offspring of militant multiculturalism and government-sanctioned identity politics. We reap what we sow.

I have to applaud the talent and strength this little girl has. She definitely is aware of the events that still ring true in reality today. Although this is hard hitting I don't as a child following the Black Panther way of thought she too just acknowledges theinjustice and of course her words are angry. Pointing out the racism is the thing I think people can't deal with. For anyone (media/opposing viewers) to blame a 7 year old for being racist they as adults in the big wide world andnot addressingit is unfair.
If this causes enough stir for people to say what isn't or shouldn't be the case, then I just hope it will also make people start or continue to replaceand dealwith what is and can be the case.
From what I've learned about the Black Panthers the focus was about equality, justice and most of all ACTION!
“If people around you aren't going anywhere, if their dreams are no bigger than hanging out on the corner, or if they're dragging you down, get rid of them. Negative people can sap your energy so fast, and they can take your dreams from you, too.”

It doesn't take much for white people toyell racism. The child must have had them sh*tting in their pants. If you're not on your knees praising them, then you're racist. For 364 days of the year, we have to listen to their bullsh*t accounts of history and praise their racist so called "great thinkers"yet the one day we hear things from the African point of view, they want to scream racism.
If even 5% of blackchildrenher agehadher strength of character, there would be no need to worry about the future of our race. But instead of raising strong children, some of us are too busy raising a bunch of loud mouths who know everything there is to know about 50 cent and other suchbuffoons but don't know jack about their own history or better yet, how not to live your life catering to massa's wishes.

I definitely like that she's been exposed to pan-Africanism (or some form of it) but what I'm worried about is the little girl becoming just a marionette of her father's teachings. As we all know, children tend to adopt the ideologies of their parents as a default because they cannot create complex ideas of their own or becasue they hold their parent to such a high esteem. Is it right for this girl to be force-fed what some would label as "extremist proproganda" and not have a choice in her political views and if the answer is yes, then is it right for this girl to be persecuted by her academic society solely for listening to her father? Basically, I think she's a bit to young to be presenting poetry like that.

LOL @ "Force fed" Why the emotive term for what she learned at home? Would it be "force fed" for her to learn the other version at school or is that mere learning? Why the choice of words?

Yeah she is youngand has a few things muddled up but the general gist is there and at least she knows the score. I'm happier with her being "force fed" that sort of history as opposed to "learning" like I did about the wonderful Europeans and how lovely they were to us.

However, I must admit, from her appearance I used to believe the same thing(and wouldn't be surprised if she is some military brother's offspring, who doesn't acknowledge that side of her heritage because of self-hatred).
