Modern Day Pinocchio

Even though strings are cut;

ligaments still ache from hectic dance

and Geppettoâ€™s demands.

Smoke oozing from tired joints.

Dying to please she draws own audience;

hoping to find

one thumbs up,

one smile,

or even one nod

tucked into bursting g-string.

She pivots,

bows,

to find just mirror

mocking new form of nose.
