Hi guyz, I just got a power book apple mac, I am new to all this Mac stuff, but was intrigued to see what all the fuss was about having a mac over the PC, any tips, tricks, or if you have software we can trade would be nice... lets get a little Mac gathering together.

IM on my (maybe)9th mac.Ive had four powerbooks.
I dont really get too caught up in the love hate between
Macs and Pc's, its mainly out of ignorance, if you want easy access to software then Pc's are more appropriate but if your in the art field,Graphic design,Music and so on
Macintosh are more stable and serious. The word letters CPU
Abbreviate CoMpUter the word Pc abbreviates Personal Computer, the Computer was industry made for heavy duty work
by design the PC was a way to Personalise a Industry
computer, knowing the facts my choice is for the original
power but if its about convenience and word processing Pc's
are better although they can now handle bigger jobs they
still were designed for smaller ones, hence the love of
the POwermacs. Those are the facts.
What you tryna do with it, i hope not just show off.
If you can get system 10.3 Panther installed you will see
what all the fuss is about.(Just remember the F 11 key and
the genie effect. Also very few Viruses are written for macs
new Panther versions come with a firewall and because unix
runs beneath it and is open you can manipulate it and make
your machine Hack proof.
Come to think about it Macs are quite a bit better than Pcs
in many ways, without being biased. Its a kind of divide
like the Artists V the 9-5 ers.
Sorry and welcome.
Menzer.

Macs are great.

If anyone can remember, not too long ago, back in the late 80's, in many computer stores Mac software was everywhere. Unfortunately the brain trust of Apple kept there system secrets all to themselves and this is why the PC world, lead by MS, has dominated.

I currently own 5 Mac including the a Mac Plus. I little girl has her own iMac and use the one as a music studio.

Peace
