I am in my first yearstudying fora maths degree and we are currently doing a module called financial markets. We are learning about shares and all. We have been told to build a portfolio of shares.
We go on to the stock websites and get to buy stocks. Completely free so you can invest as much as you can and buy whatever volume of stocks (our maximum £10000). You can get shares from any company. (FTSE 100 or 250 etc). You can also find the history of companies including their share prices, performance etc
If you want to experiment try these websites you may need to register freely on some: www.moneyextra.com/stocks, www.moneyam.com, www.advfn.co.uk, uk.finance.yahoo.com, money.msn.co.uk, markets.ft.com/news/markets/uk, news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/business.
Hope these have not come late.

I haven't read the previous post but I'm sure the other black net poster have given you some good advice.
But from my experience, probably because of my own ignorance but,I hated it. So do as much studying as you can before actually putting your money in the market. After all my studying of investing in the market, I seriously think the stock market is a scam.
I've moved onto to real estate it doesn't seem to be as risky as the stock market.
My experience was this. I had a dealer who didn't charge upfront but only for buying and selling, I put up $500. It was 250 to buy and 250 to sell. The dude only made me 10 bucks, and he took a big risk with my money. I was pissed so I've started doing more studying on the market, I'm still not sure about stock investment. Do all the studying you can. I've got plenty of horror story with investing, I'll save them for another day.
Another thing about the real estate. I read in the Wall Street Journal that the lot of peeps from the UK,Ireland and Europe have been taking advantage of the now weak dollar here in the U.S. and buying alot of homes on the east coast. You get more for your money buying homes here in the U.S. opposed to a 950,000 home in the UK you could buy one here for about 200,000(4 bedrooms, 31/2 bath) and use it as a vacation home(plus you get cheaper airfare) and rent it out when your away in the UK. The British pound is up to 35% from 3 years ago and 5% since last year.
International sales are 71% and domestic 20% it used to be the reverse. Alot of folks from UK are buying whole projects here in the states before they are even finished. Most foreigners buy the homes and end up selling them back to people in the U.S. and making twice the profit. I would look into real estate if I were you. Less risky.

If it hasn't been said already:-
Guide to buying shares:
Do your own research, e.g. buy new investors magazines.
Register with Share websites which will keep you up-to-date with prices.
Find a good brokerto do your buying and selling, that would also: protect you if something goes wrong, allows you to trade in the morning and afternoon with the same money, if possible, and who is not going to charge you too much.
Practise, practise, practisebefore you spend any money by creating dummy portfolios. This way you'll learn if your methods of choosing Companies to invest in are correct.
Here are some free practise websites:

Been studying shares for 6 years.
did all the studying and researching.
made some change to go on holidays!!
I think it is the best way to make money!! easily.
Yes you may sometimes lose.
My only advice is NOT to invest for the long term because who knows what the future may bring.
I try not to hold my shares longer than 10 days.
Also I dont even think ethically, or anyway except will I make money, REGARDLESS.
You have to know what is going on in the world.
Watch Bloomberg and BBC1 at 5.30am, earlyI know and as one previous member stated develop your intuition, this helps!!!
Anyway, listen Im trying to get my idea across to black people, what do you think??
IDEA: if 1 million black people put 1 pound a week into a fund and then invested on the stockmarket like all other nations do, the only expectation would be that the initial investment be doubled, then we could help ourselves, by making money go round.
what do you think? clp)clp)clp)

Someone also stated invest in Blue chip companies.
My advice stay away as they do not move quickly enough and small cap companies are doing way better than the large companies.
Commodities and oil hot picks at the moment.
both volatile however keep your eye on them and you could be winning when neccessary.
listen to news about china, us, emerging markets, europe, basically the whole world!!

Im new to website, however, yes it is possible that you have seen the idea before as it was discussed to me. but I wont go on about that.
Why must there be a pot, and what if there isnt a pot, will we not start a pot?
Trust umm... remember 52 pounds a year!!!
wetrust the education, the health system and all the other systems out there and then an excellent idea comes along and you dont trust it what just because its thought by a black person...
lets not start on that tip
try and be positive that if this were to be set up it would be for the good for black people.
to do what you ask??
whatever you and whoever puts in the "pot" wants .

why the statement about lie and truth at the end, seems like a riddle say it straight, dont assume....
to me you keeping adding that at the end of what you say conjures up a false impression that you know all. we all are learning, remember that
and yeah god is standing by and???
