Hey ppl

Well this thread is to announce that I have just completed the first version of the my freelance website www.dtads.com or www.dtads.co.uk, its basically a side thing that Iam doing along with my full timework (a guy wants to earn more bread),I state that its first version simply, becuase its bound to change, as its not as stable as I want it to be yet.

I mainly putting it here, to get people's feedbacks and any ideas on how I can improve on it, spelling mistakes, your whole impression of it etc, so if you all have a time have a look at it, and don't hesitate to tell me what you think and spread the word.

Thanks in advance

I generally don't like it when I click on a link and it leads to what I call a 'nothing' page. After all the first thing I'm seeing is black page with a useless telling me nothing logo!

What is it, what's it about, why should I hang aroundto find out!!!!??.

Naaah - I 'd just click straight out again, (which is whatI did), even if there may be a link to a wonderful site underneath, (which incidentally, there isn't - no link that is!).

Sorry! You did ask.

At least you didn't have a silly animated intro that I usaually see, where it usaually bares no recognisable relation to the actual page that containsthe info that one goes to asite for!

To be quite honest with you BT, I never thought that was what I was meant to do - click the logo that is!

Anyway for the sake of a fairer report, (and because I now realise that was whatI was meant to do lol), I did just go inside andactually it was quite interesting. It was clear that you design websites and that you are offering your servicesto people.

Feedback was easy to get to as well as the all important contact page!

I actually liked it! All it needs is a few polishing touches like you said and you're there!

Perhaps a few simple animations/videos/recordings -whatever - showingsamples of what you do wouldn't go amiss. Don't you think its good if a viewer gets something interactive to do?

It shouldn't need to be said butI hope people would get replies to thiercomments as we have all been there, wheresites beg for feedback, but don't reply themselves, making them appear rude or indifferent! Bad business! If you are likely tobe inaundated with replies and think you would not be able to cope, thenstate that, (businesslike), on the website. Make it clear also, reasons for any possible delay as towhy you may not be able to get back in touch if at all, or notfast enough that people would expect.

I don't, as a rule, like dark backgrounds on websites. At least it wasn't those horrible yuckky wallpaper types! I like black text on white background, with pretty colours/stuff scattered thinly about it. That is obviously just a personal preference though, so what you and others thinkmay beanother matter.

I just think, suppose somebody sent you amauve letter in a pink envelope, what would your immediate thought be? Would you think it was from your solicitor? If it turned out it was, wouldn't you think that it's slightly odd if not downright unprofessional?

That's the way I view websites. If it was about joe bloggs football team I'd be more inclined to accept it, but when we are talking about business, personally I'd prefertoview traditional formats.

That's enough for now!

Only had a brief look but I think the site is well designed and quite esay to navigate.

Suggestions get to the point of the site a bit quicker so move the services to your home page as thats what the sites about and where youll earn your money. Id also get rid of "My Names is"line as you want to create a company feel not a one man band approach.

The logo thing at the start i think is alright as it helps build your brand,I think that you need to get the 'loading' notice more centred and visible though and if possible get into the site a bit quicker as Athaba touched on.

All said i wouldnt take my words too literally as ive no experience in internet design and there are tried and tested ways to do things correctly with this subject. An agency can help or there are loads of designs books to follow.

If i wanted a site designing i'd buy from you and im notjust saying that your design is impressive.

I have had a look at your website and I think it is very good.
I hope my comments are taken as constructive criticism:

I think this point has been already mentioned, but the colours are rather sombre, however, that is a personal taste.

Having navigated the site, I can see the level of expertise, therefore I would not question your qualifications. Is your resume required?

I'm a point and go man, therefore, I tend skip intros.(press the link, then Bam! next page)

That said, my site is in serious need of a revamp. I will email you from your site to see if we can do some business.
