i did not know about the Hampton Conference to be honest. but i did read a few of the synopsises of what occurred and dog gone i did not see anywhere that would lead me to believe that K.J. had as much influence on the over all handling of the TRANSLATION. In fact i see where he became enraged at one point almost dismissing the event.

i am sure that being king there was some pressure put on those participating. but over all from the arguments; baptism, excommunication, women baptising infants, remission of sin...i would estimate that he got it right.

from a lay person who is definitely anti christian what points do you feel that he changed to benefit himself and his monarchy? there was a statement that said this was particular taken up because he was dissatisfied at the churches stance on his kingship. where is this addressed in his favor.

the bible puts no one above God. and in difference to the papacy there is no earthly mediator between humans and God in this dispensation.

i fail to see the "established facts", the "suited his views" above the truth of what the bible said prior to this conference and where he "rewrote" the bible rather than translated it.

Maybe there is a document from that time that you know of that supports his rewriting (changing the text of sacred scripture). if you could point it out i would love to read it...
I must say I am surprised you didn't knw that as i thought it was common knowledge..however I do know that at the front of most Bibles it states quite clearly that the 'good' book is translated from the original tongue... So again it does beg the question WHO translated it, and from WHAT tongue and how does anyone know what was in the original version?

good morning or good day kunjufu....

i was not aware of it and now have some valuable info thanks to you sir...

as i said i did not see any thing that really would help keep the monarchy viable. and i guess the word rewrote is interchangable with translated....

so my question to you is that how else are books written in other languages given to other people?

can you imagine the problem reading war and peace would be for me? there is nothing wrong with translations although i must admit that a lot of times something is lost in the translation.

that is why i study with a greek and hebrew dictionaries.

to give an example the word kill has quite a few different but simular definitions to include murder, self defense etc...

the scripture that says, "thou shalt not kill" is used to justify not serving in the military. this verse is talking about murder not killing in war or defending your family or self....

there are new translations of the bible coming out daily kunjufu to do just what you said of K.J. that is why i stick to my old reliable kj set along side my greek/hebrew dictionary...

I find this kind of hard to believe. You study in hebrew and greek yet you have a hard time understanding why the bible has flaws?

Shalom.

And so it starts again...

The ongoing battle...

JAZIASHA versus MEKNOW

There can only be one.

me and jazi are home boys...he is trying to make a point although it sounds a bit like he is at me rather than the bible

>>>I find this kind of hard to believe. You study in hebrew and greek yet you have a hard time understanding why the bible has flaws?<<<

he knows he has a better chance against me.....

oh and jaz, want to qualify that allegation...what does studying the bible with a greek and hebrew dictionary have to do with what you think are flaws...

can you give an example....
