@Ijexa
No cant bring myself to see this film. I;m too sensitive to scenes of brutality and bloodshed, and I;m glad I still am. Its enough for me to witness the daily horrors on the news of whats happening in Iraq Now....I;d prefer to leave whatever happened at the so-called crucifiction where it belongs....in the "maybe past".
And the only Talking Donkey I;m interested in is in the sequel SHREK 2.

Locsgirl,
You sound a bit condescending in your talking donkey statement, but it is the foolishness of preaching that God will take and confound men that are only wise to the things of this world.
Peter Tosh, a reggae artist went to Africa, and came back saying he saw a man change form in front of him to a snake. This tallies up with things also written in the bible. However the more you expose yourself to the ideals of the West, and like native_son, also get caught up in the Science and the Spin as he puts it.. then people that will tell you things they have seen for true, you will right off.
Compare to Shrek and all manner of other things, right people off as mad, and who knows even we might adopt the methods of our counterparts and inject up those that don't talk like we expect them to, never truely trying to understand. I hold still that the bible is true, not because I have read it, but because I have experienced certain truth's from it.
One such truth, is the Holy Ghost. And because I have experienced that, believe me, I believe Donkeys can talk, Whales can swallow men whole and I don't even blink at believing that a man named Jesus died on cross for you and I. Now where you wish to look down condescendingly, I notice you have still a doubt whether Jesus ever existed or died on a cross. I have no such arguments in my spirit, I only try to prepare myself for the time to come.
@native_son
I wasn't trying to be all to clever nor make you feel silly or promote myself in anyway. A fool despise instruction but a wise man seek knowledge. If at all I was trying to impart a little knowledge your way. Each one teach one and all that.
Sorry I was a bore, probably because I have muddled what I believe with science or spin to make it more interesting for you.blkscholar

That was very interesting reading, and the author made some very valid points. I especially liked is take on Jesus flight into Egypt.
Thanks Ashanti  ower

Most Western media n scholars still blind folded nkeep pursing a caucasian image of Jesus Christ,same thing they are doing with ancient Egypt of black pharoahs which they wanna claim were whites.
This image totally contradicts the Bible. If we refer to the Bibles Gospel (goodnews) the book of Revelations we find a totally image than what is portrayed in the movie or in everydays church life.
Revelation 1:13 " And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle ".
Revelation 1:14 " His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire ".
Revelation 1:15 " And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters ".
Now lets really analyze these quotes. His hair was woolly. Now African or African Descendants are the only race of people with woolly hair. It is called curly or nappy hair=woolly. his eyes red as flame fire (brownred eyes) another common feature.
It also goes on to say feet like fine brass like burnt in an oven. Fine brass. Now brass is a compound metal from 50% copper which is dark reddish brown and zinc which is a greenish tint. Ok now burnt in an oven you get a very dark brown color again he looked like or had features of an African or African descent.
We are in the year 2004 and the evil forces of the world feel that they need to continue to promote the image of the beast spoken of in d book of Revelation.
Revelation 13:15 " And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. The image they have us worshipping is th epale image of Jesus.
In God what counts more is peoples faith not their skin colour or social stutus,Overall Gib's movie doesn't matter cos it passes the required message to d people thats dsacrifice of christto save the world against sin(evil) ,but passes with it the other false side, thats potraying most of holy figures including christ as white caucasians...

It would be a complete and utter waste of time if they spent the first half an hour quarreling about what manufacturer made the knife.

Under these circumstances it is totally irrelevant who made the knife. The argument about who made the knife can happen after youv'e all safely crossed the bridge.

@LifeChemist
Why don't we leave the issue that doesn't really matter alone, the Idea that Jesus was this or that colour. We as Christians do agree on many things, but why do we let one issue that we disagree on put us down. He is my Saviour, I see Him and feel his presence, but I don't really care about his colour ( he is my Lord, so whatever colour he is, I do have to Accept him as my LORD),I appreciate what he has done for me, knowing fully well that if i was the only one on Earth, he would still have come to died for me.I do understand what you are trying to say, but wait till you get to heaven or you have a revelation with Him, then youwon't have to agrue about what colour he is,that is not really the message he wants us to be getting across, but it the Message of salvaltion that really matters. God bless
The Hymn writer wrote"
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is Enough that Jesus died
And that he died for me."

@Justavoice
The Donkey thing was a Joke.....
I also have no doubt that Jesus actually existed. There have and will always be Mystics who walk this earth.
I dont believe he was crucified and never have.
And I do believe that Shamens can shape shift and fakirs in India are Still performing miracles such as Jesus did.
I was not being deliberately condescending but when you start talking bout Talking Donkeys...sorry but first thing that sprang to mind was the donkey in Shrek singing "Try a little Tenderness..."

@Ijexa and Justavoice. Ijexa, had to reflect on your excellent critique. Read it last week and had to come back again today and read again.
Justavoice. Sorry my dear brother not often do this. But will have to go back on my original intention to go and see it. Not possible in life to analyse everything in detail. But after reading Ijexa's exposition had to agree with him.
But we do agree "When We Were Solidiers" was a great film.
