I dislike all religions and spirituality equally. They create a us and them divide and a holier than thou attitude, and it leads people no where.

Don't be too happy, the stories about Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, and evenPlato, etcmotivated and inspiredalot people in the right way. Myproblem is that these people were not superstars, they didn't pretend to be either. You worship them like they are. You belittle their spirit in my opinion.

They all werelanterns for clouded minds, and all showed people what humanity can be. They got people to challange and question the way they lived, and why they lived that way, the same way Socrates had his pupils transform their lifes for the their own betterment. They wanted humanity to be excel in it's growth, they didn't set out to make people like them, or try to covert people like they were play things. They were living examples of the good of humanity.

I tend tocommenton religion itself, and not the figurehead of that religion and yet still people feel insulted. What is that? I don't recall any of them wanting a religion after they were dead. Pure vanity, you didn't create it, and nether did they for that matter.

But just because you believe in them doesn't mean you too are a living example, you don't inspire humanity, you're not challanging people's way of life, you're merely insulting people not like yourself, you're not following their examples of excellence. Believing in David Beckham doesn't make you much either, it certainly doesn't make you a good footballer. Yet when people believe in something good, they think it automatically makes them a good person, and better than everyone else. Amusing but sad at the same time, it's also wrong.

Everyone is following generation upon generatons of flawed hand me downs.Hence all the backbiting andb**ching. There's far too much self indulgent adultation going off, like the screaming mindless Beatles fans of the 60's. "My beloved Mohammed" or "My God", and"My beloved Jesus". What does that say about a person? Saying that? Change Mohammed with David Beckham to see what I'm getting at.

To many people are believing in something just to distract themselves from the uncomfortable reality of life and it's suffering, and believe themself immune to it's touch just because they believe they are. Really if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

Half of you couldn't even give a indepth report into why you believe in something without using the words of another, or quoting something out of a book. Heck half of you don't even work hard for the knowledge you have, you expect people to Teach and tell you things, instead of learn and grow on your own. This is why groups are so popular.

You really can't expect a intelligentperson to hold that sort of attitude/mindsetin high esteem.

None of you eventhink, would Jesus says this or react this way to that, would Mohammed have said this or that. No you don't think at all. Insteadyou just burst out with a wave of illogic, emotion, and irrational behaviour.People really don't believe in them truely, you'd all act alot better if you did that's for sure. It can't be helped though, they're not around to look at as examples, so you look toward the next man, with his Earthly desires and goals, and most of all faults.... and be just like them. Look at all these people converting people who think they're already perfect enough to even consider converting anyone.

Why save a world that's not supposed to be saved eh.

The tactics you used to attempt to put me down look really familiar, oh thats right, its the whole make the other person look like they are overeacting so that you can look good. Ive been there before and they do nothing to deter me from defending my relgion from morally void and blasphemous ppl such as yourself.

Firstly what i wrote about your retrieving quranic verses from the internet and whether it was along with ****ography was not an insult but for the purpose ofoutlining the source of your information. The internet isfull of manipulative, incorrect and misleading material. It cannot be trusted uponthey way you have.Perhaps my point didnt come clearly enough and If u felt insulted, get over it.

I really dont care If you have deamed me unintelligent simply because of a spelling mistake, since when did it become criminal to make amistakewhilst typing, you obviously have no idea how to measure intelligence and therefore your opinion cannot even be valid.

Your entire argument was based on my getting emotional and being concerned with the actions of the prophet and those of my people.your argument is cowardly as you dont even address one thing that I said.you went around in circles correcting my spelling mistakes and counting insults. This isnt athird grade argument. Its real adult stuff, so maybe you should adjustyourself to that.

You also say that I am more concerned with non-muslims people behaviour, well let me educate you, its a little something called comparison. You completely missed the whole point of me pointing out what women endure in today's non muslim society. I was simply saying that for a society that judges Islam to be oppressive towards women, you yourselves have many flaws. So what right does a criminal have to look down on another. I dont put others down to make myself feel better I simply state what I see, and sorry to give you a reality check Peacemaker, but i am doing to non muslims what you are doing to us. What your basically saying is that its ok for u to make comments on islam but the minute i say something about non muslims, i am more concerned about other ppl and not my religion. Please try not to contradict yourself later.

When I say 'we' I mean my religion, and those who are true muslims. I am my relgion, it is me. If i sound too institutionalised for your so called liberal mind, well im sorry, thats the way i think, plz dont tell me not to incorporate my brothers and sisters when i talk about my religion because i speak in their defense as much as my own. And if that means I am a conformist, well so be it, but at least I have a belief in something that runs deeper than some ppl's prejudice and hatred of the world.

The reasons for posting my response were not to 'enhance' youropinion on Islam, ithas become pretty obvious how you feel, but to defend it against you. All that concerns me is that ppl in this forum dont read your rubbish and take it seriously, so get off your high horse and stop thinking that you are the reason i responded.

The fact that you say you dont care about innocent ppl being killed shows your level of morality or even humanity. It is inhumane to not feel anything for other ppl in pain. That comment doesntshows your true characterand i am pretty sure many ppl with be questioning your sense of kindness or whether you even have a heart. Just because something doesnt concern you does not mean you cannot have compassion.

I dontrely on others beliefs, as you can see i am a very well opiniated person, and if u think i am heated, that is the love of my religion and the beliefi have in it speaking. Its not my fault i fightfor what i believe in.That was an honourable thing lasttime i checked.

What amazes me the most, peacemaker, is the psychologist role you have assumed. Is that a defense mechanism you use. well it didnt phase me. in fact it really made me laugh. In one post you managed to conclude toall the wrong things. Firstly you say i chose a belief model to fit in. This was by far the funniest thing, because i happened to be raised a non muslim and converted to islamso fitting it isnt exactly what i was doing when i chose to be a muslim. Secondly, you said i chose to re-act instead of act, isnt that what ppl do in a discussion, you obviously have never been on the debating team. I think i am going to find it difficult to argue with someone who doesnt understand the basics of a discussion.

did you seriously think that you would have anything new to add to my consciousness?

consciousness??? Im really beginning to think you dont have one.

Salaam

NativeTongue,

That is true, with 35 percent of African-Amerians contributing to it. There are over 1 billion Muslims in this world--That is more than what anyother religion have. I remebered looking at 20/20 about the affects of Islam after the 9/11 attacks. from what I seen, according to the reports, there were many people---the majority of them being women converting from Christianity to Islam, by 11 percent and more and more people are more interested Arabic studies/Arabic Language than ever before. With some of these people thier interest has nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks it's just that they want to know more about the Middle East/Asian and about Islam in general.

Ever since I was a kid, I was always intrigued by Islam/Middle Eastern as well as many other cultures. As a kid , I didn't have a whole lot of understadning about it and just had kiddle , imaginary fantasies about it, like flying on a magic carpet, going to the Taj Mahal and just moving to Saudi Arabia or something. I was just fascinated by it. I remembered going to my aunt's sisters house. Her sister was a Muslim and sometimes she wore her hijab/veil and I just wanted to wear one of those, but didn't know why ? I just liked it. As I got older and understood more about God/religion, I wanted to be more" closer" to him and I was searching about for him. The first time I wanted to be Muslim was when I was 16. I told my mom about it and her answerwas flat out NO! She thought that I was confused about who I was and that I wouldn't be happy in it because my aunt sister wasn't.( She's now a Christian)

I, too, is a Christian--a Baptist-- and have been for almost seven years. I'm happy and content with where I am and wouldn't want to change it as I'm always looking for spiritual stability. I also look back and ask " What if...." What would have happended if she wouild have giiven me permission to become one, or to learn more of the benefits of being one? There were times I asked myself should I have defiedher command? but I didn't, but I hate that I never got a chance to seek this answer, For all she know, it could have been me, god could have very well lead me to this part of his kingdom. Two days ago, I was walking with my 6 year old nephew from the library and as we passed by four places of worship a house(services that are being held in a house for the time being)Masjid, a house Buddist temple, and a Pentacostal church. as we passed by we heard some music coming from the Masjid and my nephew was curious about and and I explained it to him .My nephew told his grandmother about it and she was antsy about it, saying that he doesn't need to know aboutthat at his age. I disgree. As a kid he may not know what Islam, Baptist, Penacostal etc is, but when it comes to god, everybody knows who he is. That is the common thing those guys are sharing with each other. If my nephew /my child told me that he wanted to be a Muslim ( at an older age far as understanding the studeis of being a Muslim)or anything else, I would support his decision as long as his mission is to serve god and not Satan. Moreso, Islam is more than a religion, it's about history. That was something I learned about in the 3rd grade.

Peacemaker, that was by far the lamest response I have ever seen. I guess it just comes to show your complex 'intelligent' thinking huh. That post was about you, it was about you trying to slander islam, and me protecting it. So one point for u on that one. You basically re-instated everything I was saying. I didnt need a repeat of my ownpost.

PS. whats your point? Perhaps you dont have one and that was just an attempt to keep face in a discussion you have clearly lost.

PPS. It was great before when you had something to say, but you really dissappointed me, i was waiting for a response, not a surrender. Oh well, another time I guess.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, your right, Balli, balli, balli. Now hush, I'm bored of you. You haven't even said anything worth reading, I could read insults all day long, but they get lame after about 0.5 seconds. If you did say anything of worth then your personal attacks distracted from them. Didn't offend me mind, it just isn't worth replying back too. Maybe you should go back to debating class.
Quote:
Mohammed didn't want a religion, he'd slander you too.

Yes you're absolutely right, you win, I've lost, now go away. I mean who can match a torrent of personal insults. It's not like I set out to win anything anyway Queen Sheba. That's the British and theAmerican attitude, who cares about saving face, like I'm in big brother up for apublic vote. Talking about people falling for the celebrity culture. *shakes head* Sorry kid, but I'm not that narcissistic. I don't set out to make myself look good in the eyes of others, abit more to life than that you know.
Quote:
I made my point very clear a couple posts above, interesting that you didn't bother to read it, you got too caught in with the need to insult...again, and again, and again.

Nope simply bored of the topic..I've yet to read a reply that wasn't a personal insult, especially about one that wasn't even personal in the first place. It's not my fault you identify the words of someone you have never met with you true self. In reality you're not even defending yourself.
But yah, keep looking outside of yourself for the realanswers, like most people do. Like arguing with me is going to make you feel better about yourself. Arf!!!

Until you can write something more logical, and not go all emotional andwriting nonsenseabout me, I might get back too you, but until then I'll ignore you.

If you could write something logical you wouldn't need to attack me personally would you. You think you're a Muslim, but you certainly do act western big time. I'll call you a phoney Muslim for now.

For some reason in the eastern part of the world, people act more civilized, also they tend to believe in reincarnation, actually more do in the world than don't, that might playa role or not. Anyway. Don't upset your ego too much becauseI don't argue on your terms, I'm just above base insults for the most part..
