Hotep. I have been persusing this forum and noticed a few people with knowledge of Ancient African religion and history. I think one of the major issues that face the diaspora is just how little we know the Geneology of Religion in its entirety. I also believe that in order to for us to make true progress, me must reclaim what is ours conceptually and give credit where it is due. One of the major reason we have remained oppressed for so long is the current stranglehold we are subject to regarding our Concept of God, of Self, and Universe. We see ourselves only through the lenses of our oppressors. Those oppressors include, Muslims, Christians, and Jews. They include Greeks, Romans,Persians,Arabs,Indo-Europeans, etc..

We have an original religious orientation that dates back tens of thousands of years if not more and it is Kemetic Science. We did not seperate science from God, because there need not be one. Science and Religion were never ment to be at odds.

If your religion tells you that dinosaurs didn't exist then your religion is wrong. If science tells you that there is no God, then your scientific process is flawed. There was a time when we pursued knowledge of the Universe with an eye for the divine. That mode of thinking gave us tens of thousands of years of advanced civilization, had us building pyramids that replicated stars and make precise measurements of the earth, time, and geography. We lived in complete harmony with the earth and communed with the divine.

If by Thoth, you mean Tehuti, then yes. I try not to use the Greek representations of Kemetic Neters if I can help it. Sometimes I will use them for familiarity, but generally I don't. When you start referring to Thoth, you are more or less getting yourself into sources that I don't considered to be skilled or knowledgeable to accurately interpret the language, traditions, culture of the Kemit(Ancient Egypt). Folks like Budge, Crowley and others are ok if they are the first peopleone encounters in study, but I tend to be more comfortable with sources like Carruthers, Ashby, Nefer Amen, and those who are multi-disciplined in their approach to Kemetic Studies.

Fred B, you are absolutely right, Amen's writing style does leave much to be desired, but I still think its good information. He is for serious study, but no less vital as an introductory text to people who have been indoctrinated into the religious traditions of Christianity, Islam, etc..

i say FREE as in FREE to do what i want live how i want and not care about rules and guidelines concerning holiness and purity... ive witnessed many souls who denouce purity and true holiness, even among my own christians that is how denominations came about people just possessing the zeal of God and not the knowledge of God, and wanting to serve Him how they sought felt and not as He should be served, thats why many doctrines came about...this afrocentric guy was trying to spit me some knowledge i just didnt shut him down i gave and ear to him, but he also loved to smoke weed and curse and drink and loved things of the world like money fornication and etc. my thing is how can you witness the so called truth to me if you are caught in bondage of the earth and earthly things the affect wouldnt be great......his thing with christianity was that it seemed oppressive and you didnt have the freedom to do what you wanted to.. my question is ...do men in afrocentric studies see christianity as a doctrine ofdictatorship and why?

oh and as far as the original HUMAN religion: HUMAN being the key word, what ever Happened to GODS DOCTRINE and the way HE wanted things to go not us HUMANS?
