As a Christian, how important is it to you to witness to non-believers? I believe it is our purpose here on earth and while God gives everyone a certain gift we should all take time to witness to others anyway we can. I try to do this, even though im shy at times i know that everyone is not going to accept God's blessings.

I have a problem... though i feel its in my spirit to witness to a certain person in my life but im having so many conflicting emotions i dont know if im doing it for the right reasons and if i can actually do this. This person i feel is very veryspecial and uniqueand i feel that even though this person may not be for me i KNOW God is going to have him do some MIGHTY things and i can feel it in every bone in my body. Im so fearful and i cry almost every night because i feel like i have no progress and i think maybe its the Satan's way of discouraging me because this person...for whatever reason Satan wants to make sure he can try to hold on to... I dont want that to happen and i pray God wont let it happen but i know this man once he sees god's light many great things will happen for and around him. I just wanted to speak on this and hear some words from other christians because i feel so little right now and i dont know if im clear in the direction i should go...please pray for me...ill pray for u as well...

Yeah, I know how you feel. In mychurch youth group, we've started a group called prayer of three. You pray for three non christians everday for an hour for a month. Now when I first started I was full of it, and I couldnt wait to see Jesus moving in my friends lives. BUT over the month I noticed myself loosing the zeal to pray but I knew this was the devil trying to crush Gods work. So I persevered in it. Two of my prayer of three became Christians whcih was amazing but the girl who I thught would became a Christian the easiest is actually the one most resisting. Four months down the line, Im still praying for her but I know that in Gods time she will be saved. I might just be the person who is sowing the seeds, I may not be the one to help the gfrow, that might be another person. It may take years for my friend to realize who God is and belive in Him but Ive got to keep pressing in to Him and believing that she will be saved. When Im walking down the street, I try to picture everyone doing God work and what they would be doing if they were a Christian. The important thing is to keep praying and beliving that God will do it. The people who resist the most are usally the ones who do have a belief but are resisting for whatever reason. Its annoying seeing people who you know God can be using to do great things. Prayer has the power to break many strong holds, Strongholds of unbelief. Prayer does oversome the devil, remember we are not fighting with weapons of man but with the sword of God.

sxdx Hmm Church attendance is at its lowest. Shouldn't you be praying for the churches be filled with the christians rather than nonchristians?

Used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Princess I understand where you are coming from. I will offer you some advice as far as being a believer and witnessing. One of my boys today told me that we are walking advertisments, we sell ourselves. The question is to God our we good merchandise. A lifestyle that exudes Christ goes a lot farther than words. God bless you sista. I will pray for you right now.

Hmmm I usually don’t come this side of the forum… not sure what made me take a look at it now… I guess boredom has a lot to do with it…

Anyway "witnessing to non-believers"this is whyI have a problem with religion… I pray for them, I pray for that, I pray for you… I find that patronising… who are you praying too and what makes you think I need praying for?

I am spiritual which is very different to religious which is defined by the Western religious men such as the Pop, the Canterbury etc…who’s people established religion and also defined religious men as spiritual men, which is totally wrong, and then used it to oppress our people.

Nowall religious people do is try to bring you in to good turn with their religion, but spiritual people bring you into good turn with god… you see the difference there?

So please don’t fool yourselves thinking you are the saved once… you might be surprised to know that those needing spirituality are usually self proclaimed religious people… but that is your choice and I ain’t gonna patronise you by telling you I am going to save your soul with prayers or whatever…

Preachers not hardcore enough these days. Personally ifI was one and believed in all the hype, I'd be hanging around hosiptals walking upto people on their deathbeds telling them that they'll goto hell for not believing while they were in good health. If they still didn't listen to meI'd creep into their rooms and night with a tape recorder and play hellish sounds in the background and set the curtains on fire.

They'd soon repent.

Yeah but we should be praying for both. the only way for the churches to be filled is to pray for the people who dont believe. But we should pray for everyone becasue everyone needs encouragement and strength.

Right let us suppose Jesus can and will indeed save us from hell fire. Is that a sufficient qualification to make him a god?
Is that it? He is going to save us hence he must be a God.

I mean doctors save some heart attack victims from death, electricians can save you from an electric shock, G Bush can save Americans from terrorism and some believe he will do so with no doubt, does that make these people Gods?

Just because someone is going to save you from a certain tragedy it does not make him a God
.

How does Christianity say that you are supposed to behave?

It says that we must pray for both. The Great Commision is for Christians to spread the Word however Christians need help from God in doing this therefore they talk to Him for guidance in the form of praying eg praying for God to help unveil a persons mind therefore they can see the seeds. Christians praying for each other help support and encourage others.
